I drove on the road for the first time in my life this past Monday. The first time I drove a car was this past winter break when I circled the parking lot with my mom. It was a very short drive, but my mom was screaming that she was going to be killed. I thought to myself that the passenger in the car must be many times more scared than the driver. My parents told me to go to the second driving school after I returned to my home country because it is much easier to get a driver’s license in the U.S. than in my home country. Driving on the road for the first time was scarier than I had imagined. The scariest part is when a car follows behind you. I was worried that I might cause trouble for the people behind me because I was driving at half the speed limit for the first time. I finally got the hang of it about 20 minutes after I started. I was still very nervous about driving but it was super fun. I am already looking forward to my next driving lesson. I can’t wait to get my driver’s license so I can go out driving with my family and friends.

Packing
I have always had a huge issue when it comes to packing. Most people would say that I am an over-packer but I believe that I am just extremely prepared. My friends and family have always hated on me for the amount of things I pack to sleep over at someones house or to go on vacation. I am a very high maintenance person when it comes to having all my necessities with me at all times and I feel like I shouldn’t get judged for that. This week, I am going on a week long cruise to Mexico with my best friend and her family. Her mom said that we are only allowed to bring a carry on suitcase onto the boat. I would be able to pack a carry on suitcase if I really put my mind to it and if I knew I had a laundry machine but on the cruise, to wash an individual item like a t shirt, it costs six dollars and to wash one hoodie, it costs twelve dollars. There is no way that I am spending that much money just to wash my clothes. I have never been on a cruise before so I have no idea what the weather will be at night and since we have multiple stops, its not like I can just go to the weather app and figure out the temperature especially for in the middle of the sea at night. I am so stressed out because I’m so used to pack a large suitcase that I can fit all my things in. I have no idea what to pack and I am dreading the idea of not being able to pack everything I need and having to wear dirty clothes.

A paper, a pen, a lamp, and a table
for Fred Alvarez
A paper, a pen, a lamp, and a table.
How long will it take me to write my animal fable?
What am I writing? What am I saying?
A poem – since my animal story is still not on the table
I am not asking for mercy
Not begging extensions
Give me an F!!!
I shout in contention.
Is the problem in craft or is it in craftsmen?
“You have a week, now go write the story”
I’ll need one more
And then one after that
Well, what d’you expect? I’m not a printer
I am a writer and thus let me write
Will it take months, will it take years?
Nobody knows and neither do I
But one thing is certain with all this procession
I’d rather be damned than sell my soul to the trade of summarization.

O Come, All Ye Faithful
It’s Friday. The congregation is gathered at Calculus AB. Mr. Kim is preaching about the virtue of integrals The first fundamental theorem of calculus says: Thou shalt obtain the antiderivative F as the integral of f. The second fundamental theorem of calculus says: Thou shalt subtract function f(a) from f(b) to evaluate the integral from a to b. Mr. Kim shares his testimony – how Mathematics transformed his life and saved him from ignorance. Everyone bows their heads in accord, but will they follow the Word and change their ways?
