Henry Wadsworth Was Wrong

Today, the first drops of rain after months of blistering heat graced Ojai for just one minute. It was the best minute of that day. I love rain. I could just watch and listen to it forever. I love when the sky clouds up and makes everything prettier. Today, the beautiful grey sky brought out the green in the mountains surrounding OVS. It all just looked so fresh and not regular old California. Everything looks better in the rain.

I love the feeling of raindrops on my head, I love watching them out the window, I love the sound of wind and thunder, and I even love the smell of wet asphalt. At night, everything is just incredible- city lights upside-down on shiny streets, and the comforting sound of heavy downpours making you sleepy. Henry Wadsworth was totally wrong about rainy days being “dark and dreary” if he loved sunny days so much he should’ve lived in California. Anyway the rain today, despite being accompanied by 95-degree temperatures and its briefness, is welcomed by me.

Windows Down

Although the air is frigged on this winter night, we drive around blasting music with the windows down.

Why one may ask?

Because sometimes there’s no purer form of joy than singing your favorite songs with two of your favorite people.

In that moment, all your fears and worries fly out the open window and you are living in the moment, watching two people sing and smile with every word that leaves their mouth.

This is one of the moments that you would replay over and over again when you rest your head on the pillow for nights to come.

I would not trade the little moments like this for anything.

So the simple answer to why we drive around with the windows down on a frigged winter night is simply for the joy of it, because in the end, you only have once chance to make memories like this with the ones you love.

In the Bath is the place to be.

Bubbly,

Atmospheric,

Therapeutic,

Hot.

Relaxing bath

Baths are one of the nicest things on cold days. Fill up the tub with hot water, add some bubble bath or bath salts, and climb in for a long soak. Feel the water lap around you body and fill you with warmth and sooth your limbs.

The bath is really a place I could spend all day.

In the bath is somewhere where you can contemplate decisions and think over new ideas. The hollow tub is truly a place of reflection where your thoughts are free to fill your mind and trickle into your thought processes.

Lying in a bath you are often filled with the sense of peace and tranquility both around you and in your soul.  It is a place to relax, kick back and be free.

In the bath is the place to be.
