C’mon man! WE NEED HELP!!!!!

Demetrius Bell left Philly without a contract this weekend, which is not good news for the Eagles.

Following the injury to star tackle Jason peters, the Eagles need some serious help on the offensive line, and the team brought in Bell to try and get a contract done. Unfortunately, they screwed up and missed out.

Now, the Eagles may have to focus their attention to either obtaining another free agent O-lineman or drafting a replacement for Peters.

Either way, something must be done now. This is not a good sign, but thank God (or Tebow, whichever you prefer) that there’s a lot of time before the season stops.

Time to get serious, though.

By the way readers, Sorry I haven’t been doing any worst person stories lately. I’ve been really focused on free agency and have been covering that mainly. I will be getting back to those very soon.

Enjoy this random picture of happiness for my return to the worst person stories.

Asante Samuel—The Sequel

I’m not sure how to say this, but as time goes by during the trade talks, I want Asante Samuel more and more out of Philadelphia. Now the Eagles have an even more pressing matter on the table. They need to find a way to replace All Pro left tackle Jason Peters, who ruptured his Achilles tendon while working out in Texas.

The Eagles have already been connected to two big name tackles, Demetrius Bell and Marcus McNeill. Both players are far superior than King Dunlap, Peters’ current backup.

I can only sit back and hope to Tebow (yes, tebow is a replacement for God) that the Eagles can sign either of these two players.

This has to be our year as Eagles fans. We have waited too frickin’ long for this to go down.

Let’s get this done.

Asante Samuel-Oh God Not Again

Eagles put Asante Samuel back on the trade block for the third time in a little less then a year. Trying to get something in return for Mr. Samuel is surely…well…stupid at this point.

Asante had arguably his worst professional season this past year and the Eagles would have been able to secure a pretty decent price for the ex-Pro Bowl cornerback. Last year, as reported, the Lions were willing to sacrifice a 2nd and 3rd round pick for Samuel, to which the Eagles wanted a 1st and 3rd. The Lions rejected that proposal and the deal was not completed.

I can only wonder what could happen this time around. I don’t think the Eagles will get much from any potential trade except for the extra 10 million dollars of cap space.

We could then use that money to pay All Pro running back LeSean McCoy.

We are building the team for the ages. How you like us now, New York?

DeMeco Ryans-Newest Member of the Nest

Well, the Eagles finally fixed a glaring need for their defense this week when they traded for ex-Houston Texans middle linebacker, DeMeco Ryans. They will finally be able to stop the run, which ranked near the bottom in the NFL last year.

I am a HUGE DeMeco Ryans fan. When he was a Texan, I admired his tenacity, and desire for big plays even when he was a Texan.

He’s a monster of a linebacker, and I just gotta say one thing.

9 months ago, when the NFL free agency period started late due to the lockout, and Nnamdi Asomugha was the big man on the market, I predicted the Eagles would trade for a linebacker either last year or this year. I mentioned 3 names. Lofa Tatupu, Ryans’ teammate in Houston Brian Cushing, or Demeco himself.

Turns out I was right and I couldn’t be happier about this move. He is an instant starter. Time to get us a Super Bowl. There’s no choice to lose this time. It’s now or never.

NFL Free Agency…Gotta love it!

Now that my Eagles have finally been able to sign DeSean Jackson to a long term contract (5 years, 48.5 million), I can now focus on other teams and their signings.

The talent class this year is absolutely endless. Some stars like Cortland Finnegan, Carl Nicks and Vincent Jackson went off the board very early. And now, as we sit in the third day of free agency, I just have one thing to say to the Eagles.

SIGN A FRICKIN LINEBACKER!!!!

Now that we have covered that, let’s look at some more big names. DE and OLB Mario Williams signed a massive 6 year, 96 million dollar contract with the Buffalo Bills, which may be the big signing of the year. This move bolsters an already dominant defensive line for Buffalo.

Another big signing was the signing of Brandon Carr by the Dallas Cowboys. Ya, I hate it. But it was still a smart pickup by the Cowboys.

I won’t say much more since i hate this team.

The moves are wild right now. I will probably blog a supreme amount in the coming weeks as the NFL Draft approaches and other trades and signings are made.

Vacation…ain’t it so sweet

Finally I got out of the school and back home. I was so happy to finally get home and kick back in my big chair just watching NFL network. I get one week to myself, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Recently, I was involved in my school’s production of the evolution of America. I had a lot of fun with it, and that was my last event before the vacation. While I’m upset to be leaving all the fun experiences I had behind, I am very much looking forward to my week off.

Tomorrow, I will be doing a new Worst Person. The NFL Scouting Combine has just officially kicked off, and there’s nothing but insults from me.

Stay tuned everyone!

How bout’ some Mock Draft Madness?-Worst Person 17-Andrew Luck

I know it’s pretty early still before the NFL Draft. But, I wanna discuss the Andrew Luck issue.

C’mon guys. Do you all really think that Luck is going to be the next great quarterback? Ya, he’s a great football player but I don’t see it. Then again, I’m a fan of the ground threat quarterback.

However, the reason Mr. Luck is on our worst person in sports list is because of all the hype that has been garnered thanks to his presence. I hate these overhyped athletes. The Colts are going to draft him, and it should just be dropped.

Honestly, I’m more curious about where Robert Griffin is going to end up since that’s still up in the air. I’ve never been a huge fan of the draft. I’m not a fan of rookies. Veterans play the game the right way. I just hate hearing about the top draft pick.

Who knows? Maybe a torn ACL is in Mr. Luck’s future?

Worst Person #15-Dan Rooney

What? The long-time good-guy owner of the Pittsburg Steelers is a new “worst person.” The reason is because of the tenure of coach Bruce Arians, offensive coordinator.

It was reported that Arians was retiring after 5 years as the Steelers OC. However, about a week after leaving the Steelers’ franchise, Arians was hired by the Indianapolis Colts for the same OC job.

This drove myself and many other sports journalists to ask the question, “Why did Arians retire, and then immediately find a new job?”

The answer lies with Dan Rooney.

The team, led by Rooney, basically evicted Arians, but did not fire him. They simply forced him out of the job. They didn’t fire him, and he didn’t really retire. He was told to retire so that Rooney wouldn’t have to fire him.

Ya, it’s confusing, but I view Rooney as the ring leader.

Worst Person #14-The Pro Bowl

As I’m sure everyone saw last weekend, the Conference Championships went exactly as I had planned, but not as I had hoped. I’m still fuming about the Patriots and Giants once again being in the big dance. I don’t wanna watch that crap again. It’s no fun watching the same teams compete every year when they aren’t the team you support. So, I will extend my congratulations to the Giants and Patriots and begin my post without so much as a rant about how poorly the Giants executed this past weekend, or about the 49ers’ horrible punt returner Kyle Williams. Heck, I’ll even overlook the Billy Cundiff botched kick that could have tied the game or the Lee Evans potential game-winning touchdown catch that didn’t happen. Let’s talk about the Pro Bowl.

Probably one of the most pointless contests in all of sports, the Pro Bowl has evolved into a sick joke in recent seasons. Since the game was moved to one week BEFORE the Super Bowl after being the week after for so many years, the teams in the Super Bowl must restrict the players from “competing” in the Pro Bowl. The Patriots had 8 players while the Giants had 2.

Why is this the worst thing/person of the week then?

Because the Pro Bowl shouldn’t exist. It isn’t a competition. It isn’t a serious honor bestowed upon a player by the league. It is simply a popularity contest. The rosters show dozens of players that don’t belong there, but the public and the fans don’t know any better than to elect their team’s players.

What do you think guys? Do you think the league is using the game to squeeze a little bit of extra cash out of the public?

Doesn’t look too competitive, huh?

Worst Person #13-Jeff Lurie

Ya, ok another one about the Eagles. I bet you guys are starting to wonder why I even like this team. I can’t help it. Eagles till the day I die. But man, this just gets frustrating.

Since Steve Spagnuolo was fired from his job as the Rams head coach a few weeks ago, Eagles fans young and old were waiting to hear if he would be hired by the Philadelphia Eagles to coach the defense. However, last night, these same fans came across some very sad news pertaining to the highly popular coach.

Steve Spagnuolo signed a deal with the Saints.

Then why, might you ask, do I blame the Eagles’ owner?

Maybe because he had the power to stop this from happening!

Not only did the Eagles not get Spags (which I thought was wishful thinking from the start) BUT JUAN CASTILLO STILL HAS A FRICKIN’ JOB!!!!

I don’t get how that’s possible. He’s the worst coordinator the Eagles have had since long before Jim Johnson. I don’t know why this team continues to screw their fans. We just want to win a Super Bowl. Is that so much to ask?

I’ve seen them win a division. I’ve seen them win a conference championship. But I have yet to see them win a Super Bowl. I saw them lose one. And I’ll be honest, my story isn’t even the saddest one. My father was born in 1962. He hasn’t seen the Eagles win anything. The last time the Eagles won a league championship was in 1960, before the Super Bowl was born and before my dad was born. My dad will be 50 years old in October, and they still have no championships to show for 46 years of the Super Bowl.

WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE OUR TURN LURIE?!?!?!? SPAGNUOLO COULD HAVE HELPED US GET BACK ON TRACK! WHY DIDN’T YOU WANT TO PAY HIM?

There’s a long offseason to go. Alot of things can happen. But, I came up with a 6 step scheme that could win the Eagles a championship. FIRING CASTILLO WAS ONE OF THE STEPS!!! DON’T SCREW US LURIE!!!!
