The people of India cannot begin to explain their enthusiasm about the current US president, Barack Obama, visiting India this Sunday. The security is being tightened around the capital, New Delhi, and the places he is to visit. Even the five star hotel in Delhi, Maurya Shelton, which will be the President’s residence for couple of days, has refused to rent rooms to others.   “Authorities are taking no chance with security measures and we are doing whatever is needed,” a senior police official said.

The trip is not a luxury trip but rather one to improve the ties between India, Pakistan and the States itself. While his stay, the President will be busy visiting the Prime Minister Singh of India and the other important figures. He may also travel to Pakistan. In a week, the leaders are expected to sign and launch a number of the key elements of the Partnership, which could rapidly grow to $100 million a year.

However, Indians are excited to show the President the growing economy of India. The President will see the success of the country economically. The new roads, buses, hotels will wipe the image of “slum” from India. This visit is important to those patriotic Indians who want to show the world, the new India.
