The Snake’s Defiance

The snake slithers quietly rattling a warning to all.

The snake does not care about the other animals but wishes to instill fear.

For a while the other animals do not heed the snakes  warning.

It is not until the snake strikes, impaling a rabbit with its fang do the animals heed its warning.

The snake is not finished, its venom is a poison that spreads through the hearts of other creatures.

The animals decide something must be done.

They exclude the snake from the jungle forcing it to find its own food and comfort.

Many of the snakes’ eggs die, the snake vows to never forget this injustice.

One day the snakes descendent will bite and engulf the hope of others.

The Devancement of Man

Humans, at one time hunted there pray.

Filling a stomach required strength and speed.

Slowly man no longer needed such traits.

Our lives became easier but we became weaker.

The body became less of a necessity and thus wasted away.

No human asked about the food they consumed.

Who caught it?

Who prepared it?

What kind of animal was it?

These questions did not concern the modern man.

No, no.

His life was consumed by the stress of modern life.

Slowly however the truth emerged.

His body and the rest of society’s have been tainted.

Lack of awareness and progress had sickened mankind.

The advancement of mankind had successful destroyed the human race.

The Crashing Eagle

A nation’s spending out of control.

A flying spark of hope flies across the sky.

A weathered bird has served its time well.

Its has flown high in the sky.

It has been prey.

It has been a predator.

It survives its ordeals only to come crashing down.

It is shot down by bureaucracy

The replacement threatens to out shine it.

A mighty eagle, the replacement is swift and strong.

The hopes of the nation come crashing down.

The mighty eagle crashes, its strengths is its undoing.

Exorbitant costs and empty coffers force the nation to abandon the eagle.

In it’s destruction the eagle robs the nation of its hope.

Never again will hope rise so highly in the nation.

A Forsaken Hero

The man who killed the evil man.

What was his fate?

There was no heroic applause.

There was no fanfare of any kind.

The man who did the great deed,

he was sick and tired of it all.

Years away had caused the man emotional pain.

His wife did not love him.

His children did not know him.

He left the honorable trade.

However the entity that supported him no longer did.

His health and that of his kin is left to chance.

Stuck with no options or hope.

Because he served an uncaring nation.

The Perils of Innovation

Innovators often suffer for their ideals.

Not grounded in reality dreamers always dream.

An ideal that can change the world and the faith of its residents.

The age of gasoline will end.

Men such as Musk will lead the way.

Media and politics conspire against him.

A shady review is circulated.

His lighting vehicle, once a savior is now vilified.

The media in this instance is false.

His lighting vehicle is a miracle but personal vendetta got in the way.

Reports laced with malice were found false.

Who is to blame?

The media, politics, or the man.

The blame rests on are culture and the industries that allow it to thrive.

The Former Servant

A man is disgruntled and angry.

Perhaps he lost his job to hate.

Perhaps not.

His intentions do not matter.

All that matters is the result of his action.

It’s a shame a once public servant.

Now, he harms the people he once swore to protect.

Why?

His actions are the signs of a mad men.

Now he is no longer respected.

He is feared and hated.

Through the mountains he roams.

Trucking along on his quest of evil.

Seizures and searches do nothing.

He is out their, true.

But surely he will be found.

Pay the Way

Warriors fight and die for a nation.

Never questioning the validity of their cause.

They act selflessly asking and receiving very little in return.

They die in the deserts, thousands of miles away from their homes.

Enduring unimaginable physical and mental wounds.

Limbs missing and soul shattered.

Yet never questioning the validity of their cause.

The nation and its leaders will never understand.

Their pay cut and for what, to balance scales.

No no its politics, the goal is to simply appear to solve problems.

The soldiers are cut, their sacrifices are diminished.

All they have given to a nation is forgotten.

Power Lines vs. Ravens

What is electricity?

Does it give humans solace in the middle of the night?

Does it allow for the advancement of mankind?

Does it allow lost things to be found?

Does it illuminate homes?

Does it illuminate streets?

Does it illuminate towns?

Cities?

Countries?

Earth?

It does none of these things.

The only things it does is provide hope to a failing team.

The Prickly Plant

On a hilltop the prickly plant sits lying in dirt

The humans that pass by question its worth.

It starts as a budding spore with no spikes.

Humans that touch it have no reason to take flight .

The years go on, its brethren die.

The prickly plant still survives.

By this time it has matured.

Any creature that touches it must endure.

The pain wrought by its vicious spike.

Every human that touches it now takes flight.

However even this prickly plant still has friends.

After all, its location as an insects home is in high demand.

The spiders crawl inside the prickly plants center.

The spiders permanent home it has just entered.

The prickly plant keeps humans away.

It also makes the spiders day.

Equality in the Military

This week something wonderful has happened!!! Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has announced that (sometime in the near future) women in the United States military will be able to serve in combat roles. The United States has taken another step to become the pinnacle of equality it preaches to be.

Although women in the United States military have seen combat before, they were not officially allowed in combat only roles. The lifting of the ban of women in combat does not come without a catch. The Pentagon had said that certain combat roles will still be open to men only.
