May 8th

Happy birthday Jack! Let’s recount what happened today.

1.     The Lakers. They managed to completely fall apart today, giving Coach Jackson a terrible last game. Not only did the Lakers play a frustrating game 4, but two of the players, Odom and Bynum, managed to get thrown out. While this loss does mark an end to a great Lakers era, it also marks the end of the long career of Phil Jackson. For Jackson to go out in suck a bad way was very upsetting.

2.     Aboriginal boxer Lionel Rose died today. Rose held the world bantamweight title for defeating Masahiko “FightingHarada in February of 1968. Rose was an idol to all Australians, because he was one of the only Australians (an Aboriginal at that) to achieve world fame.Rose

3.    My birthday fell on Mother’s day again. It’s all ways a bummer when this happens, because a number of things happen. Firstly, all of the restaurants are packed. It’s all ways hard to find anywhere decent to eat. Most people are busy on the day as well.

Apart from these things, I had a good day. It was relaxing and nice. I just can’t help but think about what the Lakers will do next year…

Is it over?

The Lakers. What happened? This is one of the only years that I have had doubts about the Lakers. Well, after the last game, those doubts were confirmed.  Usually, when the Lakers lose, it’s because of a lack of energy. This time, it was because of a lack of talent.

Now I cannot really speak for the last game, because I did not see it. From what I heard, the team did, in fact, play hard. The Mavericks were just better than them.

And I hate to say that, but Dallas is just straight out better than the Lakers. Kobe (oh God am I really about to say this?) is getting old, Bynum is very inconsistent, and Gasol cannot stay focused. It will all be decided tomorrow, but I doubt we can come back from a 3-0 series. If we don’t, then Marc Gasol will be the last Gasol standing.

The Lakers are going to have to get it together if they want to have a good season next year. Magic Johnson recently said that the team has to be completely rearranged. We need new people, as well as getting a new coach.

Finally, what a way for Coach to go out. Last game was the only time I have ever seen him lose his cool. He was so frustrated with Gasol, that he was pounding on his chest. But hey, as long as Boston or Miami don’t win, I’m fine with anything.

Revenge

Following up on a lead he got last August, president Obama authorized an attack on a mansion in Pakistan several days  ago. After a firefight, Obama said that the special forces team found Osama Bin Laden, and shot him dead.

The American people have taken this as a time to gloat, and celebrate the death of a terrible and ruthless person. But is that what they should be doing?

The bloody death of one is no way to celebrate the revenge of the bloody deaths of others. Revenge will never lead to anything good, remember that.

To me, celebrating the death of Bin Laden is a very sick thing to do. Yes he killed many people, but revenge IS NOT OK.  Obama talked about “justice being served” today. There was no justice for him. He was found and shot. True justice would have been a fair trial. The only way this can be perceived as ok is if there was no other way to subdue Bin laden and the bullets absolutely HAD to be fired.

A death for a death is no way to run a justice system.  Bin Laden did kill many, may people, but killing him is not the solution. How does an eye for an eye make sense? “You killed someone? Well then you will die as well.”

And as for the people gathering in front of the White House to celebrate, you are doing a terrible thing. There are people grieving for Bin Laden just as many others grieved for their dead family members and friends from 9/11. I’m sorry, but revenge will never solve anything.

Indecision 2012!

Please let this man run for president.

Just thinking about the fact that Donald Trump is being considered to be in a position of political power makes me laugh. The whole right wing presidential race is just the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Most, if not all of the possible candidates are either too ignorant or too stupid to be president.

First of all, the Trumpster shouldn’t be running. Why is he? Because he was smart enough to make A LOT of money? No, because he lost all of it once. What possible qualifications does he have to run? Not only is he grossly unqualified for the job, but if he were to be elected, he would make other countries think SO much less of the USA. the Trumpster symbolizes  everything people hate about the US. He symbolizes arrogance and excessive pride. His attitude is one of take what you want and do not think of the consequences.

Other candidates, such as Palin, just symbolize plain stupidity. No one should be listening to this woman. The only reason people do, is because feminists think that she is the best thing ever because she is a woman. Just because she is a woman, has several kids (one of whom plays hockey) and is from  Alaska, does not mean that she should be held with high regard.

Other candidates are bad too. Gingrich has a head much too large to be president. Ok, I’m kidding, but while he was speaker, there were many ethical charges filed against him. And even the democrats can do better. Obama has done many great things for the country, but when it comes to negotiating, he does not fit the bill.

At a time like this, it is hard to stay happy. Too many bad things are happening, and it is hard to find someone to lead us through it all. Sometimes I just feel like……you know what forget it. When I’m older I’m voting for Trig.

2-2

The lakers did it again. They managed to lose to the New Orleans Hornets to tie the first round of the playoffs at 2-2.

Lakers2_510

The Lakers all ways manage to have it easy, and just cruise into the finals where they either win or lose. But the Lakers got EXACTLY what they did not want today, a real struggle in the playoffs. The loss secured at least one more trip back to the Hornets home stadium.

The Lakers looked sloppy today. They were un-energetic  and looked tired throughout the entire game. But they really fell apart in the 4th quarter. They let Chris Paul get a triple double with 27 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds, while Gasol and Artest had 16.

Kobe had a terrible game, scoring 17 points overall. He even went scoreless in the first half, giving Chris Paul the opportunity he needed to put his team ahead. Kobe even missed a technical foul shot making him 0 for 7 in the first half.

This loss gives the Hornets a fighting chance to move on. The Lakers need to win at home, then end the series in 6 games at New Orleans. It would be confidence crushing for the team if they had to go to 7 games in the first round.

I still believe that the Lakers will still move on to the next round. The only matter that is in question is how tired and confident they will be moving into the next round. If I had one thing to say to the Lakers it would be that it will only get harder.

America

America. Oh America. You are such a great country, but less can be said about the people that inhabit you. Americans have proven themselves to be some of the stupidest people on the planet. I can’t even imagine what other countries think about you when people like Palin and Trump are even considered to be in positions of power.

Part of your problem, America, is that you are so cocky. Why do you allow yourself to think that you are the best country on the planet? Every other politician has to make some stupid comment about the greatness of you, or how you are the best country on the planet. I have news for you America, you are not.

Take a seat America, this could take a long time.

Great countries do not torture people, America. They do not set up secret camps just for the sake of humiliation and torture of another race.

Great countries do not ward off immigrants, America. They do not send poor children with no where else to go back to their country. They do not waste money on foreboding walls to surround their country.

Great countries do not ignore the environment, America. And by the  way, a Hummer is not a symbol of intelligence or masculinity.

Great countries do not allow for CEOs of major companies to be paid in millions per year when others do not have enough to eat.

Great countries do not deep fry the twinkie.

Great countries do not disregard the foundations on which their countries were built upon.

Great countries allow ALL people to be free, and not just some.

Great countries have respect for other countries.

And finally, great countries do not think of themselves so highly. They are humble and recognize other countries as being great as well. They do not put down nations for having religions that are just as stupid as their own. And they do not hate others for liking soccer. Ok, never mind, soccer is pretty lame.

Glenn Beck, the Anti-Elitist.

America, we will remember this day. Write it down, Wednesday, April 6th, 2011. This is the day that America’s greatest idiot finally got his  show taken off the air. Glenn Beck has finally been removed from television.

Let’s look back at one of Beck’s blunders.

Glenn Beck is the moronic dunce that cries at the drop of a hat. Beck once cried when he was grossly misinformed about the happenings at the Boston harbor on December 16th, 1773. Beck was under the impression that the “patriotic” American colonists were symbolically  protesting the “elitist” British Government’s rise on taxes. Beck also believed that the British were comparable to the modern day Liberals.

Ok, where to begin? First of all, Mr. Beck, the colonists were not protesting the British taxes as much as they were protesting the monopoly the British had given to the East India Trading Company. Secondly, the Liberals of today are raising taxes to lift the USofA out of it’s trillions of dollars of debt (thank you Reagan). The British were heavily taxing paper, and other miniscule things. For you, Mr. Beck, to even attempt to compare the poor governing of the British in the 18th century to Obama and those Liberal elitists, is so ridiculous, that it baffles me to think that you have your own show. Oh, I’m sorry, HAD your own show. Even the corporate giant FOX News has realized how stupid you are.

Finally, I would just like to point out the irony that you are being fired for not knowing how to perform your job well enough, when you constantly call out elitists.  An elitist is not a bad thing, Mr. Beck. Hell, you don’t even have to be an elitist to have your own show. Just show some intelligence.  However, if you were an elitist, then you would still have a job. Isn’t life funny?

Playoffs

With the Nuggets snapping the Lakers’ win streak, and the Spurs breaking their losing streak in today’s game against the Suns, the next few games will be very important to the Western Conference.

The Lakers are currently 2.5 games behind the Spurs. Coincidentally, that is the same number of games that the Celtics are trailing behind the Bulls in the East. The next games will decide which teams will be in first place in both of the conferences.

But do the Lakers really want to be in first? If they were to clinch the first place seat in the West, then in the finals they most likely would have to play the  Thunder in a playoff round. I’m not sure whether or not the Lakers could pull that off. Last year they were very close to eliminating us in the first round. They are too fast and too good of shooters to play against. I would rather stay in second place and play the Mavericks.

Moving to the East, I think that the Bulls have a very good chance of making it to the finals. They have the potential to beat the Celtics and advance. The Bulls play a very team oriented game. They do not reply on one player to win all of their games. One player with a lot of potential is Omar Asik. The bench center from Turkey may become a very good player.

The final question is who will play in the finals. In the west in will definitely be the Lakers. But in the East, it could be either the Bulls or Celtics. We will soon see, as the season is coming to an end.

Super Blues

One of the greatest and most influential genres in music is the blues. The blues gave way to rock, pop and even metal. The world will remember many great blues musicians, but there are several that will be held in a higher regard than others. Some of these musicians got together in 1967 and made one of the greatest blues album of all time. That album was called Super Blues.

Super Blues was an album created by some of the Blues best, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Bo Diddley and Otis Spann. Just those names alone should make someone need to have the album.

Muddy Waters is arguably one of the best Blues singer ever. His performance of I’m a Man at the Last Watlz is amazing.

When one thinks of great blues guitar players, BB King and Bo Diddley are at the top. Bo Diddley makes the album with his great playing.

Otis Spann and Little Walter are the soul of the album. Otis Spann manipulates the piano to make it sound like it was made to play the blues. Little Walter can somehow make an album great just by playing his harmonica.

This could easily be in the top ten list of great blues albums. The combined talent of the four greats is very unique, and very amazing.

Under-appreciated in the NBA

Many of the NBA’s best players go unnoticed throughout their careers. The Best example of an under-appreciated player is Derek Fisher.

Fisher is the team player. He has put up solid stats for his whole career. This season, the 36 year old Laker has averaged over 6 ppg. But what Fisher brings to the court is more than talent, he brings heart. This inspires all of the other players to be better.

Another under-appreciated player is John Wall. Wall is the poster boy for being under-appreciated.  The rookie gets edged out of the spot light because of the fan’s favorite rookie, Blake Griffen. Wall would get the rookie of the year award if it weren’t for Griffen. John Wall is the player no one wants to guard. He is quick and has a good jump shot. He will have quite a career if he can get off of the Wizards.

The final player I want to talk about is Joakim Noah. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Noah is one of the best centers in the league. He is the Derek Fisher of the East. He brings not only heart to the floor, but also talent.
