Caffeine Overdose

At least once in our lives, we have been warned, “Caffeine is bad for you.”

It playfully jeopardizes our body system. However, teenagers and young adults continue to increase in their caffeine consumption though chocolate, coffee, and tea.

But, I want to particularly discuss about energy drinks.

Young people want to remain awake for sleepover, parties, and workloads. These reasons sound understandable, especially from my perspective–I concentrate on my work the best at night when the calm and silent atmosphere embraces me. However, the consequences of these energy drinks are much more horrendous than what we could imagine.

How much of God?

I am hypocritical, ironic, and incomplete. Thus, I speak humbly. How much of God should influence our lives?

My family is devoted to extreme buddhist practices. However, I attended Catholic elementary school for five years. When I moved to America in fifth grade and Rome in tenth grade, I was also strongly recommended to attend a Christian church.

Arizona Prison Escapee Attempts to End Life Through Bear Attack

What do a convicted killer from Arizona Prison and a bear from Yellowstone National Park have in common?

This story will lead you to one of the most ill-planned suicide attempts.

An escape from the Arizona prison, Tracy Province, joined the nature at Yellow National Park to allow bears to devour him.

His plan obviously failed.

When Mohave County sheriffs arrested him on a mountain, he had already injected a gram of heroin.

In fact, Al Nash, a spokesman of Yellowstone National Park, reported, “Human bear encounters are very infrequent.”

Escaping from Arizona prison after receiving two life sentences to commit a suicide at Yellowstone National Park by a human devouring bear definitely does not sound such a smart plan after all.

Trojan Horse

We know about the Trojan Horse from Homer’s Iliad.

According to the book, this “horse” delivers a triumphant victory to Greece.

In the digital world, the Trojan Horse disguises its malicious intentions and harms the computers.

This function may sound similar to Virus, a highly contagious and stealthy from of software, and Worm, also contagious software that duplicates exponentially on its own, but the Trojan Horse behaves differently.

It does not pervade other Personal Computers or programs but steals personal information, credit card numbers, passwords of importance, and files and controls the speed of PC.

The Trojans often attracts its customers by offering “safe” software to “protect” passwords and transaction information. If one downloads this software with camouflaged titles such as exe, vbs, com, bat, zip, then the trouble begins.

From my personal experience with my Adroid phone, I strongly recommend to not download any attachments with the slightest suspicion.

Because once this Trojan Horse invaded my device, I could finally comprehend the hopelessness of the Trojans.

Roses for You

Who is the most memorable person in your life?

Mine would be Granny Shim.

She was a good friend of my parents and a nanny of my relatives in America. Due to her problematic visa issues, she chained her life in a monetary place of temple in South Korea, an opportunity for her to visit me from time to time.

We do not belong to the same family, but our relationship runs thicker than our blood.

She held my hands when I stepped my first foot forth on earth, taught me right from wrong, and silently stood by my side without faltering. When I chose to be educated in the land of opportunities, America, she gave me her faith for my decision. To sum up her passion for my success, I am destined to appreciate her graceful existence.

Due to her unfortunate smoking habit, she has been residing in heaven for two years.

However, her influence still trembles in my soul. And her teaching helped me to discover several lovely children who also need my hand.

To compensate her faith and compassion for me, I want to give her the most beautiful roses on earth.

Happy Birthday Granny Shim.

Crying Animals in South Korea

More than 662,647 livestock have been slaughtered and buried, alive.

Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) has thoroughly pervaded certain areas of South Korea. This disease suffers domesticated animals, mainly including cattle and swine by causing a fever and other biological destruction such as oral blister and internal erosion without any acute vaccination provided to aid their excruciating pain.

Due to its high potential for contamination, the South Korean government ordered the farmers to end the lives of countless livestock.

Unfortunately, this tragedy continues to affect not only the animals but also the humans.

Tanning Bed for the Notorious Russian Prison

Prisons in Russia are known to be notorious. But, this particularly infamous Moscow’s Butyrskaya prison has decided to make a significant contribution to the prisoners, a tanning bed.

The origin of this idea is stunning.

After the death of prisoner Sergei Magnitsky in 2009 due to his pancreas disease, federal prisons service Viktor Dezhurov became increasingly concerned about the prisoners’ health, leading to his decision to install tanning beds on the prison’s 240 anniversary celebration day. This plan is also considerably profitable with an estimated cost of $1,000 a month or 33 cents for every minute.

The Da Vinci Code Revealed

Finally, after months of research, the results are here. The Da Vinci Code truly exists in one of the most famous paintings of the world, Mona Lisa.

“Invisible to the naked eye and painted in black on green-brown are the letters LV in her right pupil, obviously Leonardo’s initials, but it is what is in her left pupil that is far more interesting,” said Italian researcher Silvano Vinceti, the chairman of the Italian national committee for cultural heritage.

On her left pupil, the two letters, mostly likely to be B and S than C and E are written. S could represent the House of Sforza, where she belongs.

Also, under the right arch of the bridge in the background, 72 or L2 is covertly revealed. Some people might relate the number 72 to Jewish religion. However, I believe the number 7 symbolizes the time God took to create the world and the number 2 might signify a male and a female as most others agree in theory.

After all, the character Robert Langdon from Dan Brown’s series of novels is not merely fictional. Many researchers are now pursuing to decode the mysterious messages alluded by Leonardo Da Vinci, a genius in symbolism.

Afghanistan Women Cry in Fire

To burn is the only form of expression allowed to Afghanistan women.

Having been Married and suffered at young age, they fail to find an escape.

Gulbar, for example, was rushed into a local hospital in Northern Afghanistan with horrid burn on her nearly deformed body and face. Her internal body scans and blind eye narrate the story themselves: she had been brutally abused by her husband.

In another case, after an argument, Salehah’s husband poured gasoline over her tied up body and set it on fire.

Zarghona was also burned by her father-in-law for not washing her husband’s clothes thoroughly. She was fifteen.

However, these three are not the only victims. So far, about 800 cases have been “officially” recorded for the abuse cases.

The unfortunate social, mental, and physical suppression continue to bring greater depression and slavery for these women.

So, they burn themselves in fire.

If they get to survive with a slim chance, they cry muted again.

A Caculated Bombardment from North Korea

On November 23, 2010, North Korea bombarded a small island of Yeonpyeong, killing two innocent civilians and provoking South Korea to fire similar bombs as retaliation to the North.

To the news of his two victims, the North Korean dictator Kim Il-Sung replied, “That is unfortunate.”

Several hours after the bombing was reported widely through media, in Seoul, the South Korean Capital, I was surprised to get a taxi so fast during the busy hours and have the usually heavily trafficked freeway all to my lucky self.

“People feared,” said my taxi driver after telling me how he does not believe in the imminence of the Korean War any time soon.

I agree. Fortunately, resuming to the Korean War is not so simple. During the years of the pause, the world has intricately involved itself with the war economically, socially, and politically. Logically, North Korea needs consent from China and South Korea needs one from America and UN to begin the second Korean War.

However, I am not saying that North Korea has acted out of irrationality. They indeed must have a meticulous calculation behind this bombing.

Yet, the world has not been informed of this plan.
