French Toast Everyday

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all I eat is school food. Eating school food isn’t exciting anymore because it’s all the same boring, repetitive food.

I feel like at some point the food served should be mixed up. For example, why is Monday always French toast and Wednesday always waffles? At some point, eating the same food on the same day every day gets boring, and it sucks out the fun of eating breakfast entirely. Maybe if every Monday wasn’t French toast, I would make the effort to get out of bed and be happy, but it’s not.

One of these days I’ll stop going to breakfast entirely and just eat some snacks in my room for breakfast because, honestly, that’s better than French toast. I’m not asking for an entirely new breakfast food; I’m just asking for Mondays not to be French toast. I would gladly have pancakes on Monday instead of French toast for breakfast.

How to make a better OVS

OVS for sure is a great school, however, I believe there are some parts that could be better in future perspective. For example, breakfast check in. In my opinion, breakfast check in is inefficient for both boarders and teachers. Derived from my experience, it is hard to finish the school work within study hall period, so I would stay up late to finish my work. However, OVS requires borders to check in by 7:35. As a result, students who stayed up late struggle to make it to check in. Students would have to wake up super early to get ready for school.

If school gets rid of breakfast check in, or if school could make breakfast check in as punishment for misbehavior. Student would start off day lively and they would better perform in school by focusing more in classes. Therefore school should not force students for breakfast check in for students, which would benefit the school as a result.

Lee Vining Day 2-Game Day

Today, we woke up to our pregame breakfast. First off, this consisted of a 4 pound slab of bacon (purchased from the Mahogany Smoked Meats Co.).

You have never seen a group of guys go this wild for meat.

With the bacon, we made sausages, eggs cooked with the bacon grease, potatoes and onions cooked with bacon grease, and threw it all into breakfast burritos. Clearly, there was salsa and cheese involved. But it was meat-tastic.

After breakfast, we relaxed and either slept or went into the freezing cold river for a nice wake up dip. We then gathered to elect team captains while getting game gear ready to go.

Each player had to vote for three players that they think displayed the greatest form of leadership. Although we only planned on having three captains, the vote was so close that the coaches added a fourth. The result was John Olivo, Cody Triggs, Grant Spencer and Min Ung Choi.

We checked our gear one last time before loading up into the vans and blasting pump up music. We all got into our own zones, and prepared ourselves for battle.

We arrived to the field with one goal in mind: Win. We showed up an hour prior to kickoff, and began our warmups. The captains led the team in their stretches and agility workouts, and then broke up into individual position drills.

The whistles blew, and the starters took the field to compete in what very well may be the greatest 48 minutes in OVS history.Read More »
