Drugs and Their Effects

This past weekend I was when I attended an FMX (Freestyle Motocross) demo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico as a photographer for Monster Energy. I met some great FMX riders and got to talk to them and ask questions about anything I pleased.

Every single one of those athletes came across as great guys who seemed like you could hang out with without effort. But isn’t it sad how sooner or later peoples real colors are revealed.

The following day, which fell on a Sunday, it was my time to leave Cabo and head back to school. When I got on the plane I noticed that one of the riders was on the plane. This guy who’s name I’m going to leave out, is the one rider who I talked to the most and thought was awesome to be around. He was extremely sick, you could tell just by looking at him.

When we were driving to the runway he was throwing up constantly and aggressively, the flight attendant and the pilot made the decision to return the plane to the gate and remove him from the plane because they didn’t feel like he was suited to travel.

I noticed how seriously sick he looked and I made a call to my mom and asked for her to come back to the airport to pick him up and take him to a hospital.

When my mom picked him up I had already taken off, so it was a waiting game for me to find out what was wrong with him. When I got to LAX I got a text message from my mom and it read “Max, he’s a major drug addict and appears to be in withdrawal, probably from heroin. Maybe just prescription drugs, but he has tracks.”

That was not the text message that I was expecting to get but man did it make sense. Things quickly got hectic. He was hospitalized for two days and then he left Cabo. He didn’t pay for anything, his parents and friends refused to help him, and he couldn’t afford it so my mom had to pay for the hospitalization of a guy I thought was a good person and was on the verge of dying at one point on Sunday night. And to this day he has still not thanked my mom for what she did for him.

Did I do the right thing in helping him…?

FMX In BCS??!!

I had the opportunity to go and take photos for Monster Energy of an FMX (Freestyle motocross) show in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico which is located in BCS (Baja California Sur)last Saturday Night. Because I was taking photos for Monster I was allowed to hang out set up my camera gear up close to the big air jump and the Monster tent. The pictures that are shown were all taken by me.

The FMX team that was partaking in this show was AMAZING. The riders were such talented athletes and young as well. riders
There were some insane tricks done at this show such as; The tsunami, Superman Seat Grab, and the Hart Attack.

The Tsunami: tsunami

The Superman Seat Grab: Superman seat grab

The Hart Attack: hart attack To top off the night, one of the most incredible aspects of that night was the fact that the FMX riders stuck every landing and managed to not fall once. At one point I overheard the riders talking about how bad the ramps were and how “sketchy” they were, but regardless of the condition of the ramps they went out and gave the fan filled crowd a hell of a show.

Finally Relaxed

kmd
All the stress is gone after the last two weeks. I had one of the most stressful two weeks that I have had in a long time. But with the help of my teachers and friends I was able to pull through and go off to my Thanksgiving break nice and relaxed.
eee
Being home provides a form of comfort that you could never find anywhere else. Family and friends are two of the most important and amazing parts of my life, and seeing them is great. I love home.

Thanksgiving is a great time to remember what is most important in life, whether it is family, friends, food or money haha.

I really love this holiday!!!

Private School Cheerleaders=Irritating Teenage Girls

Today I traveled to the distant land of Orcutt California with the girls JV and varsity volleyball players as their manager. First off we rode in a bus that seated almost exactly the amount of players going and the bus ride was too long. Secondly, the bus ride back was too long.

l
But it wasn’t the bus ride that got me irritated and grumpy, it was the Orcutt volleyball teams cheerleaders that just triggered my frustration.

They were loud.

They were obnoxious.

They were CHEERLEADERS.

And not the kind of cheerleaders that look like these and do things like these:

But more like these:d

hahaha!

I believe that it is disrespectful to cheer while the other team is attempting to serve the ball. Cheering is fun, it is something that gets people amped up and ready to play but everything has its time. When the other team is serving is not the time.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

How do you feel?

Scary Scary Time!

halloween

Halloween is coming up and man am I ready to scare some people! Halloween to me is the most fun day because you get a chance to dress up as something you’re not and go get candy from all the houses around your block. That is unless you go to a boarding school haha.

candy

BUT being at a boarding school is not that bad. On Halloween I will make sure to have a lot of fun scaring people out of their minds. Plus we have a nice Halloween dance, and a best costume contest, which I never win.

This year will be fun though, we have a lot of people who share my passion with scaring people and that is what makes Halloween fun. Scaring people.

Get ready OVS cause I’m going to scare you all!

Banned Books Week topic in World History

                                                         BBW
This past week we talked about National Banned Books Week. In my opinion, banning books is wrong. Why wrong you might ask? Wrong because by banning a book we are hiding and keeping information from the people. Wrong, because in most cases the content of a book is merely a reflection of a real life issue or occurrence.

A book touching on the topics of homosexuality or racial differences is not a valid reason to ban a book. A book about the old south that has the “N” word in it is not a fair reason to ban a book, especially because the “N” word is being used to provide the reader a feel for how things were in the south way back when.

Books shouldn’t be banned because there is a bigger possibility that the people reading a book about a war will be shocked and learn that war isn’t the answer, than for those people to think that they should go out an mass murder a crowd of people due to their influence from that book.

If people are this afraid of what a books content will do to the minds of those who read them, then I wish you luck with real life problems because you are clearly unaware of what sort of things life brings to the table.

If a book can change every bodies mind of what a government is doing and lead the people to revolt and demand a change, then the government was definitely doing something wrong.

Books are powerful tools for understanding and for expression, but most of all books are a way to describe a situation or a period of time in the highest about of detail possible. even if it means there is foul language, racial differences or sexual implication portrayed in the novel.

Nutella Vs. Peanut butter

nutella vs PB

I like peanut butter but I LOVE Nutella. I’ve always been a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches; they are good and you can never go wrong with a PB&J. Unless you’re allergic to peanuts, yikes. But see, Nutella is delicious, sure there is some things much like peanut butter that could be harmful to some but it’s just so good that even those who don’t like it actually really do.

Its taste is AMAZING, and there is so many tasty ways to eat it.

Nutella with bread, Nutella crepes, Nutella croissants, Nutella with strawberries, Nutella with bananas and MANY MORE!!!!

I really want to know what everyone’s thoughts are on this subject, even if you feel it’s a stupid one

I think Nutella wins, what do you think?
