A new study suggests that Atheists, or somebody who does not believe in the existence of God, know much more about religion than people who are religious. The study says that this happens because atheists usually like to know more about religion, and why they do not believe.
But the greater reason is because once somebody starts to believe in religion, then they stop questioning their faith. This is a very dangerous concept because one cannot blindly follow a religion that they know nothing about.
Most believers simply ignore this and call it faith. Faith, as defined by dictionary.com, means “belief that is not based on proof.” In my opinion, faith is not a legitimate excuse to believe in something like God. There has to be proof in order for something like that to exist. Faith just simply does not cut it.
This article made lots of valid points. Yes, it is dangerous to follow a certain faith without knowing more about it. After years of studying religions, it’s one of those things that I have come to believe. It may hurt sometimes to believe this is true, but it’s the reality of the facts.
I used to be an Atheist myself. Why did I become a Christian? I eventually believed it made more sense to believe than not to believe. But, not every faithful person went through rigorous studies like I did. I lived and breathe religion 24/7 at one point in my life.
I have already been damned to hell by a Christian because I never plan on accepting Jesus Christ as my lord and savior and all that jazz. But other Christians have told me otherwise.
What is your personal opinion, Mister ScholarOfChrist?
Am I going to hell?
Please, I am dying to know.
This seems to be true in my experience. I dont beleive in God but I still think that seeing where other people are coming from is good to know, especailly if you want to argue with them.
