The Cat that could not

fgr

The cat runs and chases the little mouse.

It stalks, leaps, and claws at it.

It does this not just out of hunger but also for fun.

Finally the hunt is over it sinks its fangs into its prize.

All is not well however.

The mouse had been poisoned by some naughty human contraption.

Too late for the cat, so graceful during the hunt.

So pathetic in death.

Looking back the mouse was tainted too sickly, too slow.

The cat should have known.

The cat did not and thus became a pawn in the game of life.

A Third Voice for America

fdf
United States’ politics are ridiculous.

At the time of the writing of this blog our elected officials have still not approved a budget. While there may be many factors that contribute to this a major one is the United States’ two party political system. Right now the only political parties that can win Presidential elections (and most House and Senate seats) are the Republican and Democratic parties. Unfortunately only having two real choice hurts the voter.

While many Americans would say they are unhappy with both political parties they most often choose what they consider the lesser of two evils (whether that be Republicans or Democrats). An American who votes for a third-party under the current political system is essentially wasting their vote. Third parties in the United States do not have an enough public support to compete with the Republican and Democratic parties. As a result Americans must elect the same elected officials over and over again.

However this can all change.

If Republicans and Democrats keep running this nation into the ground the American people will grow tired of both parties. When that happens other political parties can (and will) rise to power and represent the interests of the many instead of the few.

Mundane Steps

hh

Trekking in the early morning, on a cracked road.

My feet do not step, but drag.

They are busy, hurrying to and from the mundane.

Isolated they step and dart through the mid-morning traffic.

And the people they talk, laugh, and cry.

Where they go, they do not care.

People do not realize what a mundane system it is.

You drive to a destination and get out.

For what?

To stare, to think, to buy, and to wonder

what is the point of it all?

A Deadly Chariot

bgy54y6

The chariot rode throughout the sacred city.
It hoped for the defaulted nation’s pity.

Weapon in hand and courage in tow.
Intentions, one does not know.

Doesn’t matter in the end.
Soon enough the violence begins.

Citizens were not suspected of such crimes.
Now is the end of those times.

One was dead and the rest were hurt.
The nation has not seen the worst.

A child remained sill alive.
His mind was rotted from the inside.

Once again the circle spins.
The nation will go through it again.

A Government Shutdown?

f4r

What is a government shutdown? One would expect that it involves a government shutting down. In the United States however this is not the case. Instead government shutdown is a term Democrats and Republicans use to blame each other. It is also used to stir up fury in the American people, who would fear a dreaded shutdown.

A more accurate term for this “ government shutdown” would be a limited government cutback. In its current state the federal government is shutting down non-essential services and unfortunately jobs. Approximately 800,000 federal workers will, temporarily, lose their jobs.

A true government could occur if Democrats and Republicans cannot pass a federal budget that both agree to. The longer this government cutback lasts the larger the effect it will have on the United States and the American people. Most likely one side will cave in to the other sides demands. I find the possibility of a true compromise remote, if a budget is not created then the federal government will cease to function.

Our Savage World

h7h

We all used to crawl into the ground,

Long before civilization was around.

Then came a bolt or burning stick,

Melted flesh would make one sick.

Through pain there is joy,

We unlocked nature’s burning toy.

Cooking of prey became the norm.

Raw flesh became a thorn,

In the side of a healthy life.

Why did we cause our own strife?

A simple way to live is what we had,

We evolved and now society is glad.

For what?

To work, and stress and to make our mark.

I would say our society still lives in the dark.

A warrior’s sting

gg5

The bee buzzes, flying in the afternoon sun.

They came, not from the sky but from a hive.

It was a hive of distrust and betrayal.

Buzzing and dancing the bees fled from a dying land.

They fly, oblivious to the pain they cause.

While responsible for life their stingers,

can cause death.

They swarm as a group, attacking any outsiders.

Their loyalty lies with the group.

Those who wish to become one of them,

simply cannot.

Their method of communication makes all attempts at diplomacy fail.

When aggravated they valiantly go to their deaths, not for the individual but for the sake of the swarm.

Such and enemy will never be stopped

only delayed.

The death of trusting

ff4

A man who is trusted, has nothing to fear.

He can lie and betray all without threat of punishment.

This man’s friend belongs to a different tribe.

That tribe made sure of his brothers’ downfall.

The trusted man began a plot.

The trusting man was lured into the desert embrace.

Talking and speaking began between the trusted and trusting man.

Then it happened.

A shout, a bang, and one hit.

The trusting man was dead , the trusted left the gruesome scene.

The trusting had fallen.

A snake bites a tiger

4g4g

The nation that rides the East and the West is a serpent to all.

It is large, powerful, and not easily defeated.

Not even the western tiger can hope to quell its fang.

Kindness, grace, or even hope for the future does not calm the serpent’s fury.

It must bite and poison all of mankind to be satisfied.

No law is strong enough, no punishment is harsh enough.

The western tiger claws at its elongated body, the serpent squeezes tighter.

The western tiger loses breath, and begins to fall.

The tiger pleads for compromise, the serpent’s squeezing stops.

They return to their lands and the cycle begins again.

Speak emotion, not words

fef

When a human speaks what comes out?

Is it failures, hopes, dreams?

Do the words represent freedom?

Or just a logical way to communicate?

Humanity has not always been united in this regard.

Thousands of cultures have existed.

These ancient people made art, tools, and crafted language.

Progress always had it’s price.

Skin color, cultural values, and language all warped.

People could their differences to others.

It is these differences that has caused conflict.
