Bonds

Ever left home, for a long period of time, worrying if your pet will forget you?

When a dog that truly loves his master, will always greet him/her every day at the door, like it’s the first time they have seen you in over a year. Even though you just went outside for 5 minutes to go pick up some milk. It is fascinating how much a dog will care for you, love you, and miss you. But for how long?

Well I recently had to leave my dog under new temporary ownership. I may not see him again for a very long time and I was worried that, he would eventually forget me and move on. This was all until I stumbled on to this video

Like a comment said “I had to punch the wall to get my masculinity back!”

Well after seen that, my troubles lifted and flew away.

Great to see that your animal friend can be a companion for a life time.

Feral Child

A seven-year-old boy chirps on the hands of rescuers when they were trying to liberate him from an aviary cage filled with birds.

Until this rescue, he had not been taken out of the cage, never. His mother, who despised her unintentional birth to her son, hid him in the cage and treated as if he was her abandoned, heartless pet. Since the day of prison, he was fed as a bird, raised by them, and thus, behaved like a bird. When he was rescued, he violently moved his arms high up and down, making futile attempts to fly.

He is not the only victim. Many cases of feral children, who are abandoned to spend childhood with wild animals without human contact, appear each year. From 1920 in India to today, about 80 children were discovered with animal parents.

Once they are discovered, they are sent to learn about values and customs of the real world and their identities as human beings, not as untamed animals.

Despite these efforts, these feral children unusually fail to live a long lifespan. They often die within ten years of their rescue. The causes vary from high stress level to suicide attempts.

And, they always attempt to return to their previously horrendous living conditions.

On the other hand, John Ssebunya the “Monkey Boy,” who was raised by monkeys in the Ugandan jungles after running away from his father’s murdering scene with his mother at age of four, now speaks in a human language and even sings in an African choir.

Although fascinating, sadly, humans raised by wild animals is no longer a legend like the one of Romulus and Remus descended from the fourth century BC. It is now the true and bitter reality where parents desert their children with complete ignorance.

Roadkill

For my second driving experience, I was scared to drive from LA to Ojai.

My fear was not within the moment I entered seemingly endless and bloody competitive 101 freeway near Hollywood on Sunday, but with the thought of roadkill.

Neither words nor pictures can vividly describe my abhorrence and regret for the sights of remaining parts of helpless and lifeless animals on the roads.

During my first experience of driving, I had almost crashed my car against a mountainside due to two squirrels popping out of who-knows-where.

I know their lives are important. But please, my life is important too.

As much as I could, I want to save them and avoid harming them.

Thank Buddha, Allah, God, Jesus, and all other supernatural forces.

I did not end any innocent life, but just observed many. I mean six, all in one trip.

After my successful drive for two hours, I now lay with unavoidable exhaustion. But, my fingers and some parts of my brain remain active enough to google “how to avoid roadkill.”

And here is what I have found.

Reduce the speed and drive less.

These solutions being great help, I now lay not only weary but also hopeless.

Crying Animals in South Korea

More than 662,647 livestock have been slaughtered and buried, alive.

Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) has thoroughly pervaded certain areas of South Korea. This disease suffers domesticated animals, mainly including cattle and swine by causing a fever and other biological destruction such as oral blister and internal erosion without any acute vaccination provided to aid their excruciating pain.

Due to its high potential for contamination, the South Korean government ordered the farmers to end the lives of countless livestock.

Unfortunately, this tragedy continues to affect not only the animals but also the humans.

Equine Therapy- Reigns of Hope

“Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is one of the most effective forms of experiential therapy,” according to the organization Reigns of Hope.

Reigns of Hope is an organization based in Ojai.  Julie Giove, a well-known therapist in Ojai and Ventura, is one of the leaders of this group. Equine therapy allows for a very powerful emotional relationship and connection to develop between the horse and the person.

The objective is to first establish a comfortable relationship with the horse, then proceed to touch it and lead it through an obstacle course created with objects you choose from a bucket. You then must use the objects to lead the horse through the set course without touching it with your hands. This requires a great deal of communication.
