Flower

r4t

A flower cannot grow alone.

It must find soil to have a home.

It starts as a seed, it probably won’t survive.

The odds are great the seed will die.

It’s a small chance but the seed succeeds.

It must steal sunlight and water from the tenacious weed.

With hope and care the seed begins to sprout.

It must fend off the occasional drought.

After a while the seed is a fully-grown stem.

Mother Nature can no longer extinguish it on a whim.

The stem will contain an invigorating power.

On it will grow a beautiful flower.

The flower will soon shoot its seeds into the air.

Once again the tenacious weed must beware.

Water, our great fear

rfrg

Water, without it we have no life.

It covers are planet in an eternal blue dye.

Whether ice or steam it will always be here.

Water, without it, we would have great fear.

Fear that our planet will be devoid of all life.

Water soothes and protects healing all wounds.

It possesses a power more pure than the moon.

Be warned waters power is fearsome and great.

It can decide our people’s fate.

Water rising and twisting, overwhelming the coast.

We must realize that water is our host.

A host that is spreading over our land.

Depopulating the areas of all man.

We must all share in one true fear.

Fear that our planet will be devoid of all life.

The Jaguar E Type

The 1961 Jaguar E type is my favorite car of all time.

Its looks feel as though they were forged by the wind flowing over it at high speed. The wheel arches flow over the tires like rapids pass over stones in a river.

The “barely there” bumper looks as though it is trying to hold back the beast that is the E type.

Classic 60s english car design elegance. The whole car seems to be in perfect proportion. From the opening in the front to the taillights. This car exudes beauty more than any car I have ever seen.

Alas, this car was built in the 60s and there have been many advancements in both manufacturing quality and safety. So this beauty was tarnished by the ages. The more “modern” E type, the 1974, was ruined by some of the most atrocious bumpers I have ever seen in my entire life.
A company named Eagle thought that this was a poor way to say goodbye to one of the most gorgeous cars of all time. They chose to modernize the car. Keep the classic look, but revamp what is under the hood. It turned out exactly as I had hoped.

This is near perfection. The bumper was done away with altogether. The car looks smoother than I ever could have thought.

This is a dream come true in vehicular form.

Marble Beauty

I found her very beautiful, in a hard, unfeeling sort of way.  She reminded me of a statue, just as rigid and half as inviting.  Her eyes were distant, cold.  Smooth skin, three shades lighter than caramel glowed in the pale light.

She was thin and small, barely five feet three inches tall.  Her slenderness only emphasized the delicacy of her frame but the muscles in her arms and legs were defined and clearly visible. Bones and tendons showed though the exquisite skin of her hands and faint bluish veins drew intricate designs beneath the surface.

Her jaw was fine and just a degree rounded enough not to be considered angular.  Cheekbones, not high but rather mild, were tinted the barest flush of coral.

Glossy dark hair of burnished mahogany curled gently around a heart-shaped face.  It spilled over her shoulders and over her collarbone in a wave of soft, loose ringlets.  Pressed together, her bottom lip was slightly fuller than the top and a lush rosy pink.  She had not the barest hint of a smile.

A small freckle dotted her cheek just to the left of her lips, pretty.  Elegant brows arched gracefully across her forehead.  Large dark eyes stared out from under curving lashes.  They held an unavoidable attractiveness, something about the color.  Like pools of sweet melted chocolate, they were liquid and had a faint sheen.  It was strange to me how they looked melted and warm while having such a frigid glint in them.

I never understood why she was so distant, forever a mystery.

Her name was Sahar, “dawn” in Arabic.  But she was not Arabian.  Indeed, she was fair as Dawn herself, just as soft and glowing.

Sahar’s voice was quiet and sharp, but it had a lovely lyrical quality that took the edge off her tone.

She didn’t like me, not one bit.  So we never spoke and I retreated, admiring from afar her perfect marble beauty.

Stars.

stars

The stars at night shine so bright,

Yet none of them shine for me.

I looked afar upon a star,

But the light I could not see.

A clear, starry night is one of the beauties of the world that can be viewed from anywhere across the globe. The stars that spread like a sea of sprinkles in the abyss of the night sky, wrap the world in their protecting light and magnificence. Each star an individual glowing ball of light comes together to form a constellation, a piece of art. Alike connect the dots the eye can create images and art from this spread of random dots.

The stars at night shine so bright,

and they are so beautiful to see.

Mauritania Wants Obesity

“You are fat.”

I am almost certain that most women around the world want to avoid this title except for the ones in the northwestern region of Africa.

Fascinatingly, Mauritania considers obesity as an intricate beauty symbol.

Since young age, females from this place are pressured to stuff themselves with fattening foods. Their parents encourage them to gain weight constantly. Believe or not, vomit is even considered to be “natural” and “good.” They also intentionally increase their weight before marriage to satiate their “lovers’” taste.

This practice seems odd. However, this tradition is something to be reflected much more gravely.

An increasing number of these women are experiencing health threats and are becoming mentally traumatized by the societal demands.

Thankfully, younger generation seems to be less committed to this practice and some organizations initiated their help to educate these victims the healthy ways to live.

Unfortunately, this case divulges no vast difference from the case of most young women from other nations where the desire to thin out is choking numerous women out of their lives.

Please girls and women,  you decide the right ways to live.
