The.. Actual Last Performance

October 24th, 2026 was the last performance of My Chemical Romance’s ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ tour (going to be abbreviated to LLTBP), and I am extremely grateful I was there for it.

The concert isn’t like any normal concert where the bands go on stage and play their hit songs. MCR did that during their Swarm Tour back in 2022-2023, and previous tours before then, but this time around, they gave out a theatrical performance of their album ‘The Black Parade’., telling not the story of the album, but the story of a band that came from the fictional country of Draag, in order to take over America by pleasing the people.

The show has a lot of political commentary due to current events that are currently happening, but was hidden by the performance and would require deeper digging for people to see what it actually means.

I had the joy of bringing my friend, Airadonya, and my younger, 9 year old brother, William, to this concert, along with my mom. I was somewhat worried with my brother, since he is nine, and nine year old’s aren’t known for the longest attention span, and how he would crash before we made it to the encore. However, he made it through the concert, and he said he loved it and thought it was cool.

Needless to say, I thought the entire tour was amazing, from the storytelling, to the acting, to the dedication the band put into telling the story of a corrupt government trying to influence other countries with a band that’s their mascots, and the commitment to the bit, I thought it was a great story and I’m sad to see that this era is over. From seeing them at When We Were Young at Las Vegas in 2024, to seeing them at Dodger Stadium in 2025, to this last weekend, I’m extremely grateful for the times my favorite band.

Black Hair

I’m usually not very impulsive. I always take my time thinking things out. Sometimes I take so much time it turns into overthinking, but last night couldn’t be more different. I’ve been contemplating dying my hair black for years now. I always find some worry or reason not to, though. My mom told me I should wait to get it done by professionals, but the waiting was what was shooting me down. The more time I had to think about it, the more I convinced myself it was a bad idea. Last night, as I was scrolling on my phone, the strongest urge suddenly hit me. I jumped up and called my friend to tell her it was happening. We drove to the store and bought dye, and just started painting the color in. I didn’t give myself the time to overthink it or back out; I just did it. Today I woke up with no regrets. I don’t know why I was so scared or why I didn’t commit sooner. I hope that this moment of impulsiveness will set me up to overthink less in the future. YOLO!!!
