Today a great thing happened in the world of football. First a little background for any of you non-soccer fans (tisk tisk). England is the most cocky and absolutely unbearable country when it comes to soccer.
It has won the World Cup only once and that was when it was played at home in 1968. And yet every year the English speak of how great their team will be, and yet, almost every year they suck.
I will not deny it, they have the best club league in the world. But their international team is really not that good. In fact, the US national team finished ahead of them in the last World Cup in south Africa. The thing about the English team is that none of their players, not one, plays outside of England. This is terrible for their team and for their country.
So here is the great news: The self-titled “Greatest team ever” tied the country of Montenegro today.
Now many people could not even tell you the area which Montenegro is in. It is a country with a population of 672,180. That is not a typo, under 1 million people. So England tieing them is huge news. However this is not completely unexpected given that fact that England really are not that good and don’t have much quality right now. Their best player, Wayne Rooney, is currently in a major slump which is really hurting them. So bravo England, way to keep that title of “greatest team ever”.

I think they won it in 1966…
You are quite right, my mistake.
I think you’ll find that the England Squad is actually full of extremely talented players, it’s just the problem is they find it hard to work together. This year at the world cup I must admit it was a disappointment. But one thing you’ll find is we never give up and thats what keeps the soccer spirit up in England. Watching all the games with friends and out at venues, it is clear how as a country we believe in each other. We believe in our team. The England spirit was all around this summer, it unites us as a country. We may have lost numerously but our country never gives up and that is reflected greatly by our team. The team are fighters . The fact that each player carries on, whatever the humiliation, shows how great the individuals in the squad actually are. Play on England!
Although the spirt waqs up, the second they lost all the fans started getting down on the team. There is prode when they win and hatred when they lose. In the US when we lost, we got behind our team and congradulated them for thier effort. And who does England have a center back that is under 30 and decent? And who was supposed to take Rooney’s place when he was in a slump. They have individual talent but no depth or sense of team. It is a group of individuals playing soccer, no unity.
