Fight The Fees!

Freedom of speech, one of the many rights we have as a human being. Many around the globe are not necessarily able to exercise this right through fear or extreme consequences. People are unfairly prosecuted for expressing an opinion. Today in the United Kingdom teenagers all over the country stand up for what they believe to be right.

In the United Kingdom the government has released a new scheme to raise university tuition fees across the country. This decision has caused much controversy and teenagers all over Britain have united in order to make a change.

Many teens believe the opportunity for them to go to University has been diminished by these cuts, as the expenses are far too much. In the past the government have supported teens paying for expenditures in order to encourage people to further their education. Now this opportunity has gone, how many dreams will be lost?

Everywhere teenagers are attempting to make a change, voicing their opinions through numerous peaceful protests, marches and walkouts. Numerous students and school pupils have walked out of classes in protest. It seems even teachers and lectures are protesting.

People have gathered in major towns and cities in order to demonstrate their strong opinions, aiming to gain the government’s attention. Admirably they have taken it upon themselves to make a change.

These strong-willed individuals have set out with great intention to help the youth. They are taking a stand in order to salvage their crumbling dreams as well as those of people all over the country.

In 2003 millions of people came together in London in order to protest against war in Iraq yet the government went against the masses wishes and decided to enter our troops. Lets hope the youth of the country have more success in this international issue. After all it is the future of the country the government is destroying.

NYC Taxi Drivers to Add a Touch of Class to the “Big Apple”

New York City taxi roaming streets of Manhattan.

For some strange reason, one of my overall fascinations about the so called “Big Apple” of New York City has always been taxis. No, I am not saying that the bright yellow color and black streaks absorb me in some weird type of fascination, but rather, in my mind, a night on the town has always seemed incomplete without this shiny yellow car.

Though with most of my experiences consisting of average dressed cabbies, I have never once thought of what they were wearing, in fact never even recognized it. And although the little small screen may prevent us from silently judging their clothes, I see it as quite a bit odd as most of Manhattan seems to be dominated by walking models from the latest Cosmo or Vogue magazines.

Though it seems like I may be one of a few carrying this opinion.

Love through letters

I’m sorry to disappoint you but this blog is not going to be issuing the next story of dramatic circumstances of romance and love. Instead it is about friendship and how one can keep a relationship with a dear friend through the means of letters.

True friendship is a considerable hard bond to break, almost impossible. Yet once you are forcibly separated to different countries it can be extremely hard to keep that unique bond.

Yes there are easy means to communicate, social networking, emails etc but many feel it’s obligatory to contact past friends through these means, not necessarily because they want to. Putting a great deal of effort into something means a whole lot more to someone rather than typing a measly message.

Spoiler Alert?

I went to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 yesterday, and I was more than enthusiastic with the results. I was paying strict attention to the scenes and details and I found only three important things that they either altered a little bit or left out entirely.

Compared to all of the other Harry Potter movies, this is phenomenal.

The only major things they left out or changed in the movie that JK Rowling wrote in the book were the goodbyes between Harry and the Dursley family, Hedwig‘s death (sadface), and a mural Luna Lovegood had painted on the ceiling of her room.

In the book, Harry’s cousin, Dudley Dursley, gives Harry a strong hug goodbye and confesses how he never hated Harry, not after he saved his life in Book Five. In the movie, however, Harry just watches them drive away in their car, never to be seen again.

LA Auto Show and the Phantom v

The L.A. auto show is happening this week. Some of the world’s most amazing cars will premiere at the show; futuristic cars, new sports cars and energy efficient cars. I have gone to the show for many years, but i will now be going this year.

To me, cars are a way of getting from point A to point B, but there is one car that stands out. The Rolls Royce Phantom v is the only car that I have ever loved. The classic car is very large, yet very elegant. To me, it symbolizes classy-ness and beauty. This is the car that I want to own when I am able to have one. The Rolls Royce Phantom v…..

One Second of Your Time

Think about this: A man is sitting at a football game with a portable TV set tuned to the game. The TV station showing the game picks up his image and the image is sent from the cameras, to the satellite, to a TV transmitter miles away where the image is sent back through the airwaves and back onto the man’s TV set. The man sees himself and the image is picked up from the pupils of the eyes and is sent to the brain. The brain will then send signals to the man’s arms to start waving. The image is sent from the TV set back through the airwaves, to a satellite, to a transmitter where it is sent to a TV set thousands of miles away where the man’s family is watching the game. The man’s mother sees the image on TV and the image is picked up by her pupils in her eyes and is sent to the brain where the hippocampus is stimulated and memory takes place. Then the brain sends signals to the woman’s teeth, tongue, lips, mouth, and voice box to where she can now say, “Look, it’s Mike!”
