On March 2, the federal Fish and Wildlife Service removed the Eastern Cougar from the endangered species list to the extinct species list. Since 1973, the Eastern Cougar has been on the endangered species list. According to the record, the last time humans saw the Eastern Cougar is in Maine was in 1938. The Eastern Cougar’s habitat stretches from eastern Ontario and Michigan eastward to Maine and southward to Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri. However, they are such a ferocious animal which will threaten many domestic animals, so they are human’s hunting target. During the past 5 years, scientists cannot find any evidence which can show that the Cougar is in active, and the amount of their prey, deer, has largely increased. So many of the evidences have shown that the Eastern Cougar is extinct. In addition, one of the Eastern Cougar’s relative, Florida Panther, is also in danger too. there are only less than 100 of them left in the States, so the Fish and Wildlife Service has put this species under protection under the Endangered Species Act.

Don’t Talk About the Fight Club
Imagine a crowd of guys shouting and pumping their fists in the air, circled around a meaty, muscular goon and a buffed out Brad Pitt covered in sweat and blood. Now, imagine those same guys but a little bit shorter, with higher voices, and the [former] Justin Bieber haircut.

Moms all around the country are always bragging about how proud they are of their sons. “Oh! My boy is so smart! He makes me so proud. He makes so many good choices, he’s just so perfect!” Well, that may not be the case in Tacoma, Washington. Nine proud mothers discovered that their “perfect” little boys were not so flawless after all.
Sure! You should absolutely be proud of your kid if he knows how to defend himself physically. You don’t want your kid to get hurt do you? But, maybe it’s not so impressive when he’s bashing another kid’s brains out.
Recently nine pre-teen boys were expelled from their school because they were part of their very own Brad Pitt flick. Oh, and I would just like to emphasize the words “pre” and “teen”. Seriously, these guys are in sixth grade! Anyway, these nine prepubescent middle schoolers decided it would be cool to start a fight club. Underground gatherings, secret membership, blood, sweat, and soap, the whole shabang.
The World (as we know it) is Coming to an End [[Pt. 1]]
It’s very hard not to get sad when thinking about the world and how horrible a place it can be. It’s very hard to remember the other lives that are being abused today, when my life is so easy. It’s very hard when you know you can’t fix these problems that plague society. It makes my blood boil.
Right now, people are living in fear. In fear of their government, in fear of their people, in fear of disease, in fear of something.
Burma, Southeast Asia, 2007.
Monks are holy and sacred figures, the symbols of peace and humanity in Burma. They are religious leaders who focus on the tranquility of life and don’t involve themselves in politics, that is, until the summer of 2007.
The political standing of Burma is corrupt, savage, and inhumane to put it lightly. The government, an organization of people meant to protect the welfare of their fellow Burmese, has caged their people and censored the news. Their goal was to disband people, to prevent civilians from joining together because two people are stronger than one, and 100 people are stronger than 10. Nobody speaks in fear of being taken by undercover government officials. Their voices aren’t heard. The people are mute. The people are afraid. The people are waiting for an answer, for a solution.

National Geographic published a very interesting new issue this month. The magazine set out to find who was the world’s most typical person. And here HE his.
That’s right. The world’s most typical person is Chinese. He is 28 years old, Han Chinese male. There are 1.01 men for every woman, making the typical person a male.

Budget Day
On February 14th, for many Americans, it was a day of love and spending time with that special someone, but to Washington DC, it was day of money, petitions, and vetoes.
At around noon on Monday, President Barrack Obama released his Draft of the 2012 Budget. Speaking to a Legislative Assistant to California Senator Dianne Feinstein, he commented that the draft was about 15” thick. Later this week the Draft will go through Congress for revision.

Senator Barbara Boxer, our own California representative, released the following statement on President Obama’s Budget:“While I may not agree with everything in it, the President’s budget reflects the need to cut the deficit in a responsible way.”
What our Senator does support fully is Obama’s increased funding to transportation which will help maintain and create millions of much-needed jobs. The 2012 Budget Plan has a great possibility of going through. This would greatly help Obama to first off, reduce the overall budget, and allow him to better concentrate funds on Health Care and Transportation.
Oh Say Can You Sing?
You might find this post a massive waste of time, but as a musician I think this story will and should have an enormous impact on the world of music…well, maybe not that big, but perhaps a tickle.

Musical goddess, role model and icon, Christina Aguilera – who once acted as a leader in a self-conscious, self-doubting community – made a major boo-boo at this year’s Super Bowl.
X-Tina fans all over the world were on the edge of their seats waiting with anxiety to hear the first note of our country’s theme song flow from Christina’s mouth.
Emotions were on the rise as the announcer introduced the singer to the stadium.
“Ladies and gentlemen, 5 time Grammy award winner, Christina Aguilera!”
Mic raised, she slowly opened her ruby red painted lips and when she sang the first word the butterflies from our stomachs fluttered. She was on fire. Singing with her soulful, trademark melisma – or more commonly known as vocal gymnastics – spirits were being lifted.
Egypt’s potential to become Islamic State
With protests becoming more violent and the growing popularity of the Islamic brotherhood, Egypt is beginning to look a lot like 1979 Iran.
For Israel and the world as a whole this can only spell disaster. One Islamic state is enough. If Egypt were to become an Islamic state, Israel would be the most directly infected.

To start, Israel and Egypt have maintained a cold peace for over thirty years. If Mubarak is overthrown, and the Islamic brotherhood takes power, not only would they not recognize Israel as a legitimate state, but also they would begin to openly fund Hamas in the Gaza strip, and at the least Israel would face a repeat in 2005 when over 10,000 Kasam rockets fell in Israeli towns and cities.
Putting Israel aside and looking at the interests of the US, pre 1979 Iran was a powerful ally ruled by the Shah who welcomed in western ideas. Now Iran is not only one of the most oppressed and human rights void country in the world but also the most likely country the US will go to war with next.
Iran is a threat to the entire world, and Egypt is well on its way to stand beside its brother Arab country. Yes, Mubarak is a dictator, but what Arab countries leader is not. Is not the continued oppression of a small number of people better the rise of yet another Islamic state that threatens world peace?
Space doesn’t seem so far anymore
When most people think of space, they imagine a massive area splattered with start and planets, forming thousands of galaxies that seem intangible. However science is now not too far away from actually attempting to spread our species to other planets.

Space exploration has been a hot topic since we first landed on the moon, but who would’ve thought that actually living on another planter would become realistic in our time?
A total of 1,235 collective planets have been discovered including 68 Earth-sized, 288 super-Earth-sized, 662 Neptune-sized, and 165 Jupiter-sized planets all from between 500 and 3,000 light years away. Optimistically speaking, one of those has to be realistic option.
I mean honestly, how cool would it be to be re

Hurricane Yasi
The massive hurricane hitting the coast of Eastern Australia is getting worse and worse. It has been named the worst natural disaster in Australian history. The storm is now much bigger than hurricane Katrina, and it also has a better name. Winds have been reported to be as high as 183 MPH, with waves as high as 30 feet. Flooding is once again a major factor in Australia because of the rain. An area the size of the U.K. has been covered in water.
This natural disaster in Queensland comes on top of the immense flooding in and around Brisbane. Flooding has just recently becoming a big problem in mainland eastern Australia. Hopefully, once the cyclone has passed, the government can help with the multi billion dollar recovery.
“Private” Screening?
In the past couple of months, 16 airports across america have introduced a new system in the screening process or entering an airport.

I’ve been flying my whole life. From San Francisco to Melbourne, and from Phoenix to Indianapolis it’s safe to say that I’ve experienced a plethora of airports.Throughout my time flying, and even my parents for that matter, I’ve never been confronted with any issues involving airport security.

As the imagine shows above, the odds of being attacked by a terrorist while in flight is one in 10,408,947. It is very unlikely that terrorists are going to target planes. However I don’t believe that it’s because they are scared of the airport security and getting caught. If they were attempting to blow up an airplane they have already come to terms with death and punishment. The amount of security placed in airports doesn’t really make as much as a difference as originally thought. At least that’s my opinion.
I’m not sure if I’d rather have someone see me practically naked or have to pat me down. How about you?
