When I was five I moved into the house that I live in now and when my family moved in we had some friends over. Around three months after we had moved in we decided to have a barbeque with some of our friends from the next town over. While we were doing this the parents were sat inside the house while my friend and I played in the front yard with some soccer balls and other things. We then decided to play with the horseshoes that we had found in the back yard, these shoes were very rusty and not at all safe to play with, but we were little boys so we did it anyway. We began to play our own version of horseshoes where we stood on opposing sides of the field, this was a horrible idea because it meant we were throwing these rusty horseshoes at each other. About ten minutes into this activity me friend threw a horseshoe that happened to line up with my head, not fun. It hit me in the forehead spitting it open and leaving a large gash. But I didn’t know this because I had applied so much pressure to it that no blood was coming out. This led to my mom removing my hand and a fountain of blood pouring out. She then took me to the ER to get stitches and I was sent on my way with a fun story and a scar to prove it.
I probably listen to every type of music, but I still have my own favorite genre and singer. I usually listen to music that is not too popular because they will still have their own style of music. For example, HONNE was one of my favorite bands, it still is, I just didn’t like them much as usual. If you listen to their oldest song, you will find the difference between the oldest and their newest album. I found that when musicians get famous they start to change their music style to music that is similar to others. However, here is the list of my favorite genres or singers that you should listen to.
I’m currently hyperfixating on My Hero Academia, so here’s a list of my 5 favorite arcs from the anime. This post will contain spoilers because I’m going to go in depth about why these arcs are my favorites.
Number 5– Work Studies group vsShie Hassaikai
In my mind, this arc includes everything from when Midoriya meets Sir Nighteye to when the work studies students leave the hospital to return to UA. I love this arc. My favorite thing about it is how seamless the character development is. For example: Amajiki overcoming his insecurities and absolutely wrecking the henchmen, Togata sacrificing himself for Eri even though it meant his future as a hero might be over, and Kirishima getting up and becoming a human shield despite being petrified by fear.
The fighting scenes are insane. They have such amazing animation and they’re choreographed so well. The final battle between Midoriya and Chisaki is literally one of my favorite fights in the whole show. I love the plot twists too, like the League of Villains being involved and Eri not having a quirk-erasing quirk but rather a rewind quirk.
This arc is definitely in my top five. I’ve read the manga of this arc too, and it’s even better than the anime version.
I think the Stain arc is so good because of the lead-up. The foreshadowing that starts toward the end of the sports festival arc is perfectly done. It was set up so well because the sports festival highlighted Tenya’s close relationship with Tensei and gave him a strong motive to attack Stain. The series of events makes complete sense both timeline-wise and in relation to the feelings and actions of the characters.
The fight between Todoroki, Ida, Midoriya, and Stain is genius because it’s both character exposition for Todoroki and Ida and it’s setting the three up to be closer friends in the later episodes. Todoroki’s relationship with his father is expanded upon a bit and Ida is shown to go against his morals because of his emotions, which explains his actions in the later Kamino Raid arc.
Stain is an amazing villain too. Stain’s actions and publicity lead to the organization of the actual LOV, who become the major antagonists for the rest of the entire series. This arc allows for almost every other arc in the series to make sense. Honestly, the Hero Killer Stain arc is the catalyst for the whole series.
Class 1A is fully introduced during this arc. It shows off their quirks and highlights the students who will be featured the most in the series- Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, and Kirishima. It also characterizes Aizawa, who was only shown as an uptight, exhausted teacher beforehand. His actions prove that he cares deeply about his students and his abilities as a Pro Hero are displayed.
Aizawa becomes a realistic representation of how good Pro Heroes actually are. Before the USJ arc, only All Might, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady are really shown in action. All Might’s power is unmatched at this time in the series, and Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady are both relatively new heroes who are only showing off their strongest ultimate moves.
The League of Villains is first introduced in this arc as an organization of three powerful villains and a bunch of low-level criminals. Shigaraki, the main antagonist of My Hero Academia, is introduced. Kurogiri, who becomes important in season 5, is introduced. The first nomu is in the USJ fight. This arc is awesome on its own, but knowing everything it allows to happen makes it even cooler.
Number 2- My Villain Academia/LOV vs Meta Liberation Army
I mostly love this arc because I love the villains in the league. They all have backstories and motivations for being villains that actually make sense. In lots of other media, mental disorders are used as a scapegoat for why people are villains. However, the mental disorders that the members of the league have are in no way why they are villains. Even Twice, who is clearly severely mentally ill, isn’t a villain just because he’s mentally ill. The stigma around mental illness is broken by MHA villains, who show that evil people aren’t evil because of their conditions.
Aside from the characters themselves, I love this arc because the battle is super cool. There’s so much going on at once between Shigaraki fighting Re-Destro, Dabi fighting Geten, and Toga fighting Curious. Almost every member of the league ascends their previous power level. Twice creates his “sad man’s parade”, Shigaraki figures out how to disintegrate things without having to directly touch them, and Toga learns to recreate the quirk of the people she is transformed into. The animation is awesome, as per usual, and the emotional backstories of the villains are explored more.
At the end of this arc, the LOV and MLA combine into the Paranormal Liberation Front with Shigaraki as their leader. I’m super excited for the Paranormal Liberation War arc to come out in the anime.
This is by far my favorite arc. I’ve probably watched it about five times now. I love the teamwork between the classes, the introduction of the new members of the LOV, and the battles between the students and the villains are awesome. They’re realistic, too. Midoriya nearly kills himself fighting Muscular. It’s shown that the league has upgraded from the pathetic criminals that they used to have and now have members that hold real power.
We get introduced to new Pro Heroes, too. The Wild, Wild Pussycats are a new set of role models for the UA students. They end up being recurring cameo characters in the series. We also meet Vlad King, the homeroom teacher for class 1B. His attitude towards class 1A shows the influence 1A’s accomplishments have on the other members of UA. The other students’ disdain for 1A is explored later in the school festival arc as well.
The students become closer friends and bond over the experiences they went through at the summer camp. They all make dinner together, live in cabins together, and go in the hot springs together. Class 1A and 1B cross over and find friends. It’s nice to see the students relaxing and having fun, even if it gets ruined from another villain attack.
The summer camp arc has great fights and plot development. The best plot development is that it leads to the Kamino Raid arc. The Kamino Raid arc impacted every character in the series, but it was only really good because the summer camp arc set it up so well. The new villains are introduced and the students are set up to go try to save Bakugo even though it might kill them. The arc also is the reason why UA makes dorms for all the students, which makes for a lot more interaction between the students. This arc is hands-down the best.
The life cycle is quite an interesting phenomenon. One day, you’re just born, random gender, random name, you’re stuck in a random place, born into a random family. You may not like your name, you may not like your gender, you spend your whole life being told you have the power to change whatever you want but then everyone tries to stop you. You get a job, you build a life, buy a home and that makes you happy, but does it really make you happy? Or are you just told that it’s supposed to make you happy?
You then have kids, and you introduce them to the same cruel cycle you were introduced to. And who even knows if you’re fit to be a parent, nobody taught you how to parent, and now you have to completely cultivate another human being. They have just as complex of a mind as you do, they question life too and they’ll likely go through the same cycle you did. Doing what you’re told is supposed to make you happy, with no direction, no real end goal.
And then, just like that one fateful day comes and that whole cycle ends for you. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of theories on what happens when we die, we’ll never know. Personally, I believe that there’s nothing, just like a sleep without dreams, a sleep you won’t wake up from. All that build-up, all that work to make a spot in society, to make yourself happy, just for it to end as fast as a computer shuts down. And that’s it. Makes it seem pointless, but for some reason, we push on, maybe we’re just trying to find a reason to live, maybe we’re just scared of dying.
Members of the Catholic Clergy in France sexually abused an estimated 216,000 minors over the past seven decades.
A CNN article suggests “the Catholic Church is the place where the prevalence of sexual violence is at its highest, other than in family and friend circles.”
There are many factors that lead to this shocking situation. Because of the Catholic tenet, children in churches are more likely to be obedient, submissive, and innocent. The Clergy or other adults linked to the church had “easy access” to these vulnerable children. Unaccompanied minors in the Catholic church are also clearly in a lower power position than church leaders because their parents or guardians are not with them. Church leaders have ultimate control over them.
It is ironic that the most degraded work has been done to children in the holiest place. And the Clergy’s position, which is expected to enlighten and save people, provided cover for the polluted immanence.
The mind is a dangerous place and as a former hopeless nihilist I feel I have earned the right to say that. The worst part about thoughts is that they don’t stop. It can be torturous to spend a single protracted moment in your mind when every thought is weaponized in some way to be destructive. The psychological degradation brought on by a depressed mind is exhausting. Every thought drags you deeper into the pit until your mental breaks and you give up.
I was lucky enough to break this seemingly endless loop by repressing emotion and taking away meaning and depth from every emotional outlet. My past statement of being a former nihilist was a lie, however I am no longer a hopeless nihilist. I’m just a person who copes with stress and anxiety by believing nothing should make me stressed or anxious because it lacks meaning and worth. I understand this might not sound like a valid process of thoughts as people will question my morals around every corner, however, I assure you, I have decent morals. As well as many other decent qualities. Greatest of all though, the biceps. The biceps s h r e d, and that among other things boost my dopamine levels giving me dreams and ambitions to quickly acquire. Finding something, anything interesting would lead me to want to try, learn, and quit. However some dreams in my head take a long time to learn. These thoughts of my future give me ambition to live an active and fulfilling life. I found reason along the ashes of self destruction.
So I just bough myself a car, I only had to pay half but it ended up to coming out to $2250. Which is almost all of my savings. I currently have a balance of $2500(pre-payment). It’s a pretty sick car but insurance for me is gonna be about 620 and I do not have that. Like I have to pay insurance as soon as I get my license which will hopefully be tomorrow. So basically I am in an incredible amount of debt to my parents. Basically the majority of my paychecks, which are low because the restaurant has been closed a lot so I havent been able to get good hours. I mean the head chef walked out of the kitchen and just left, and quit i guess, without telling anyone. We legit had to close that night, it was frickin awful. and The other day the fridge went out in the middle of the night due to a power outage, so all of the food was spoiled. It was bad. Anyway hopefully we wont have anymore bad luck but I guess we’ll see. Until then I’m broke.
The events in this story happened after my last story’s events so I suggest you read that one first. After I had healed from jumping into the hot tub. It was a rainy day in my home town, so my PE class was being held in the school gym instead of on the field where it usually was held. We got there and were instructed to take our shoes off so that we didn’t get the floor of the gym wet and slippery, this was a big mistake in my opinion because I kept my socks on. We were doing fun things like dodgeball and just passing the balls, but the problem arose when we started to throw some things in the air and catching them. As I was doing this I somehow made it over to the pile of shoes. I threw the little sheet thing in the air up and ran forward tripping over the shoes and falling forward onto my face. I just so happened to fall right on my freshly healed chin splitting it open again. I remember feeling the sting that happens when I had gashed my chin before. I grabbed it like I had before to keep the blood in but I looked and saw the puddle of blood on the ground and I knew that it was bad. I rushed to the nurses where they called my mom and told me I needed stitches. There is still blood stains on the floor from that event almost eleven years ago.
Shmicolas VS. Schmogan, a fight that has been building tension within the walls of my school for almost half a decade. Beginning as enemies perpetually at each other’s throats and now friends still perpetually at each other’s throats, still waiting to get in the ring to settle the seemingly eternal beef.
For a while now I have had my money on Schmicolas, small but scrappy, thin but still holding the power capable of knocking Schmogan on his ass, with one fell swoop. Schmicolas is quite the unfortunate adversary for Schmogan as Schmogan is easily enraged, quick to lose his cool and drop his advantage. Although I confidentially place my bet on Schmicolas, Schmogan is still quick, strong and capable of sending a punch that would even leave some fighters stunned.
If we’re talking wrestling, mixed martial arts or street fighting, the advantage is certainly in Shmicolas’ hands. He is a capable wrestler, one that has quite the record when it comes to taking Schmogan to the ground and getting him to tap. However, in a regulation boxing match, things may get a little interesting. As their builds are almost exactly the same, they throw the same jabs, same hooks and dodge with the same urgency. This fight will be a slow battle of attrition until the bell rings in the twelfth round.
However, a battle of attrition may be Schmogan’s downfall as he is impatient and is unwilling to wait too long for the final result. As the fight drags on, Schmicolas will begin to triumph as Scmhmogan loses his patience. Although it likely won’t be some jaw-dropping knockout, Schmicolas will undoubtedly take home a TKO and will be the ultimate victor of this fight.
