A Dark Day

vrgr

A hill awaits on the mountain top.

The sun beats strongly upon it.

However the rays will not last long.

Instead clouds appear from above destroying all life.

The wind was fierce, the trees shook.

Slowly day turned to night, the weather became as sharp as icicles.

The animals froze.

The leaves fell down.

The only good thing was the amount of Justice.

Spring is in The Air

Spring is my favorite time of year. Why? Because back home in Colorado, it’s when the snow starts the melt. The grass begins to turn green, and the flowers start to bloom. Here at school in Ojai, the weather goes from foggy and cold to sunny, and almost unbearably hot.

In Colorado, spring means the end of a cold winter, which a couple months in, everyone is already sick of. Flowers start to peek out, and it’s when they have just bloomed that they are the prettiest. The grass is green, and the rivers rush with all the snow melt-off. It’s perfection.

Spring also means that the school year is coming to an end. Classes start turning their attention from the everyday lessons to the upcoming finals. Senioritis kicks in as the seniors prepare to throw their cap in the air.

The sun finally peeks it’s head out from behind clouds, flowers decide it’s warm enough to come out of their shell. The world seems awake again. That’s why Spring is my favorite season.

The Flower I Like.

Someone admire the ones made of clay
Which they were given the gift of a long life
Someone love the ones that are fresh
Which their smell is like the love songs from the sweetest wife
If I have to choose what I like
The ones have flesh and blood blow up my mind

Even their color would faint
Their face would age
But there was once their spirit
Lighted up by the fire of life
If death is coming
Please take me after my blooming night

Snow

Let me start by saying that it is April 22nd. Yesterday I returned to school from spring break. Most people associate spring break with the beach, swimming, and warmth.

Not for me.

I went home two Friday’s ago to a giant snowstorm. The entire week I was home, it snowed almost the entire time. In April, Aspen has received about three feet of snow. It’s cold, and wet, and time for the snow to melt and go away.

On our way home from Denver, we were driving in a snowstorm. Around Vail Pass, two semi’s crashed, causing the road to close for about two hours. There was a very long line of cars behind us.

My point is that in April, it should not be snowing. The snow should be melting. I am very happy to be back in warm and sunny Ojai.

Destructive Tiger

efg

The tiger has made threat once before.

It came descending on those who value freedom.

It was pushed back into the depths of poverty and despair.

Yet the idle threats begin once again.

Perhaps to make a point or boast to the world.

It does no good, it merely aggravates tensions.

The rest of kingdom takes the threats no longer.

They journey far vanquishing the mighty Tiger.

The Tiger does not go gracefully.

The Tiger roars and claws onto its last remains of power.

Heat and energy decimate the world.

Why?

Simply because of an unjust tiger refusal to die.

Need to Skate

Seeing as the hockey season has been over for about a month or so I haven’t been on the ice as much.

The season just started this past Thursday, but sadly I had to bench myself and sit in bed at home sick.

Tomorrow night is the 2nd game of the season and I am ecstatic about lacing up the skates and going out to play hockey.

I honestly have not skated as much as I should have in this off season, but hey I can’t be perfect.

What I really need is to find time to start lifting in the gym again, but I have no idea where that is going to fit in.

This season is going to be the one, I feel it.

Last season brought some new faces to Team USA, myself included, but this season we have all worked together and we know what we are walking into.

It is time to get down to business and change the face of Team USA.

The Snake’s Defiance

veve

The snake slithers quietly rattling a warning to all.

The snake does not care about the other animals but wishes to instill fear.

For a while the other animals do not heed the snakes  warning.

It is not until the snake strikes, impaling a rabbit with its fang do the animals heed its warning.

The snake is not finished, its venom is a poison that spreads through the hearts of other creatures.

The animals decide something must be done.

They exclude the snake from the jungle forcing it to find its own food and comfort.

Many of the snakes’ eggs die, the snake vows to never forget this injustice.

One day the snakes descendent will bite and engulf the hope of others.

Oh, They Don’t Grow On Trees!

Someone asked me “Hey, do you know where do pineapples grow?” I said “Of course I do, they grow on pineapple trees!” He laughed at my response and said “No! They grow on parent plants that look like pines on the ground!” For the 18 years I have lived, this is the first time I got to know, “Oh, they don’t grow on trees!”

The origin of the fruit is from the area between Southern Brazil and Paraguay. After the natives of Brazil and Paraguay spread the fruit, pineapples reached the Caribbean eventually. In 1493, Columbus found out about pineapple and then the Spanish also spread pineapple into Philippines and Hawaii.

Pineapples are called pineapples because the body of a pineapple on its parent plant looks like a huge pine cone. People got confused with the pine cones and the fruit, as a result, the name of pineapple has been created.

Life of Pi.

Life of Pi” is recently a very famous and popular movie by Ang Lee, especially when it became the Best Picture winner at the Academy Awards of 2013’s Oscar Ceremony.

Therefore, I decided to watch it.

The movie begins with Pi’s childhood. When Pi was young, his life was not that good. He was bullied by his peers who laughed at his name and called him “Pissing” (His name was Piscine). As he grew up and entered middle school, he decided to change the way he lived. He believed in a lot of religions. He was very smart.

One day his father taught him that animals are not like humans, they don’t have the emotions like humans, they are just animals. Pi’s family decided to move their home and sell the zoo they owned. So they took all of the animals with them and boarded a Japanese ship to their new home. The ship sank because of a huge thunder storm. Pi was lucky to get on a life boat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan, and a tiger whose name was Richard Parker.

Mary Oliver, a poet of nature.

My favorite poet is Mary Oliver. She is the kind of the writer that perfectly combines the words by feelings. Her words can talk.

She picks up a bunch of aromatic flowers and smiles; she steps into the deep mysterious forest and listens; she smells the spiritual magic of nature and gets infatuated. She, Mary Oliver, the daughter of the earth, extracts every piece of the nature to build a poetic world filled with her particular experiences and feelings. Born in a small town with rural environment in Ohio in 1935, Mary Oliver spent her earliest days surrounding farms and fields and the deep woodlands attracted her. That became the moment when she realized the congenial places that lurked within her heart – nature.
