I started non artificial sugar diet again, because my skin condition was getting really bad and I just couldn’t bear it.
And sugar is the one who exacerbates problems to acne and blemish breakouts.
The non-sugar diet is a popular search term on the Internet. But it’s not a branded eating philosophy; it’s a lifestyle. Also called a sugar-free diet, this way of eating seeks to remove sources of added sugar from your daily food intake.
Non artificial sugar means no milk chocolate, no chocolate milk, no cookies, no chips, no syrup on pancakes, no ketchup on hash brown, no brown sugar in oatmeal…
These desserts have become part of my life, and now I realized they are not even good for me.
It was so hard when I just started it, I had the thought of giving up too. And it was Valentine’s day last Friday, I tried so hard to not thinking about chocolate or cupcakes.
It took about one week for me to get used to it. And now I really enjoy my diet.
I’ve been trying to get my dad to stop eating meat since I was four years old. We traveled to Ireland and I remember watching him eat bacon day after day and wanting nothing more than for him to understand the terrible health risks. I’ve always been worried about his health… His “weight loss” diets would always consist of meats and cheese (protein fads) along with Diet Ginger Ale… He would lose weight and looked fit so it worked for him, but I became more and more worried.
I tried to explain to him that natural sugars are okay and animal products were truly the problem. He was raised in a family of ten siblings so if he didn’t eat what was served (unhealthy crappy foods) he wouldn’t eat, period. Meats, processed foods and dairy was on the menu during his upbringing. So when I was young he was hard on me for my decisions because he simply didn’t have the proper knowledge.
As I got older he started to support my lifestyle more and more, eventually taking me to vegan festivals and even dining with me to enjoy high quality vegan foods. He even asked me where he could get a metal straw to help with plastic pollution. I figured this was as far as he would ever go. I accepted this reality and kind of gave up on him, sadly. I figured he would never change and that was okay…Because everyone is different right?
When I got the call last month…it was my dad on the phone telling me he is going plant based after watching “The Game Changers” documentary on Netflix. I was in utter shock. Out of everyone in my life, he would have been the last person on my list I would ever expect to go vegan. For me, this showed me hope for humanity! He is the most “manly” guy I’ve ever met so for him to make this change is amazing. With all the stereotypes about vegan guys being weak, feminine and all that other nonsense animal product companies endorse, this shows me how anyone can do it just letting go of their ego. My dad said, “All the research supports the vegan diet and this way of life is by far the most healthy. I have always known that you are on the right track. Now I am seeing that eating plant based can even build muscle, strength and healthy blood flow. It seems that it can also lower my cholesterol which is elevated at this time. I am so proud of you for paving the way. You are a great inspiration to me and I’m never eating meat again.”
A lot of the time people will tell me they would totally go vegan if they could, but it would be “too hard,” “I tried and just couldn’t” or it’s not the time and they will eventually make the switch… But the time is now. We have the resources. Nobody cares about getting the right nutrients until veganism comes up. People will be eating McDonald’s all day and act like veganism would just be detrimental to their health. Another excuse is that it’s too expensive. It is simply not expensive to go to your local grocery store and buy a can of beans or some vegetables. Research the right foods and stop saying you “can’t.” Stop making excuses to make yourself feel like a better person because it is total BS.
This is a lifestyle. And yes, changing your lifestyle is a big deal but crucial for your health and well being. This switch will change your life, and the ones in it, but only for the better. I hope my dad can be an inspirational success story and help you and your family on your own health journeys.
I love Diet Pepsi. If I order a food delivery, a 2-liter Diet Pepsi will definitely be in it. But lately, I’ve announced farewell to it.
Looking at a can of Diet Pepsi, it’s the word “Diet” that will capture your eyes. It means no sugar is in Pepsi. In other words, Diet Pepsi has zero-calories. It means you can feel guilt-free when drinking a can of soda, it means you can drink ten cans of Diet Pepsi and still stay in shape… but it also means cancer.
Cancer? Yes, cancer. Like I said, Diet Pepsi is sugar-free. However, the Pepsi company replaces the sugar with a kind of sweetener called aspartame. Studies on aspartame have shown that the use of aspartame can increase the chance for an individual to get blood-related cancers.
On the Diet Pepsi company’s response to the studies on aspartame was replacing aspartame with other non-sugar sweeteners. This alone shows the dangers aspartame triggers. However, most Diet Pepsi I see out there still state the use of aspartame. While I’m no professional in studying sweeteners or the soda industry, I do care about my own longevity. And honestly, even if they use another kind of sweetener in soda, I don’t think I can trust its safety anymore. That’s why I’ve decided to stay off the product.
Looking at all those soda cans, with labels like “sugar-free,” “caffeine-free” or “aspartame-free”… I have a question for all of us—why not just free yourself by drinking water?
I heard that “Billy’s boot camp” is very popular in America, especially in California, but no one I’ve talked to recently knows about this program.
Billy’s boot camp is a fitness program consisting of 4 DVDs to teach you how to lose weight and practice core workouts in 7 days. I personally do this workout to keep my leg muscles in shape if I get injured and can’t run. According to advertisements, a lot of Hollywood stars do this program to lose weight in a very short time.
When I was in 8th grade, I had bad knees from growing and couldn’t run for almost a year. When I did this program for the first time, I lost 6 pounds and gained a lot of muscles just in one week…
The 1st and 2nd day (disk 1), Billy, the leader demonstrates the workout from pushups to jumping jacks for about 50 minutes. Using the “Billy band” makes it harder.
The 2nd and 3rd days are the hardest. He shows you a higher level workout designed by the military. My body always gets sore for the next few days.
The 5th and 6th days, he focuses on abdominal workouts for half an hour.
The final day is basically to digest all the workouts and go over what we did.
7 days and you can be fit! So why don’t you try it now? Maybe it gets hard that you want to quit in the middle of a workout, but don’t give up!
In order to stay in shape and not get ill, it is extremely important to sleep. When I saw this headline, I was like, “well duh, sleeping is important. I know that.” But as I read into this interesting research outcome, I found very interesting facts so you better read through this!
Research shows that people who sleep 7 to 8 hours a day have the lowest obesity index than anyone else. Compared to people who get 5 hours of sleep, their obesity index is 50% lower, and for those of you who get 4 hours of sleep, 75% lower. That means, the less you sleep, the higher the tendency to get obese.
But why? The reason is because of the unbalance of the hormones reptine and ghrelin. Reptine is the hormone produced by fat cells that controls your appetite, and ghrelin produced by your stomach increases your appetite. So, if you don’t get enough sleep, reptine will decrease and ghrelin will decrease. People who get 5 hours of sleep compared to 8 hours of sleep, they have 16% less of reptine and 15% more of ghrelin, which means it, increases your appetite and prefer higher calorie foods.
Lack of sleep is one of the biggest enemies to a diet, but it’s not too late. After a reducing sleeping experiment, the examinees took 10 hours of sleep for two days and the hormone balance got back to normal. Also, the rate of craving food got 25% lower.
So sleep well to stay in shape.

Surprisingly, every hour I study, I burn about 92.4825 calories, which is worth more than a Hershey’s special dark chocolate stick! So maybe I burn about 400 calories every night from studying!
But the thing is, some people can’t focus on their work if they’re too hungry. Your brain needs some sugar. So, it really depends on if you can tolerate hunger and focus on your work while studying!
Here is the equation of how many calories you burn. The calories depend on your gender, weight and age.
1kg of your weight that burns every 1 minute: 0.0295 (kcal)
correction factor =0.95 for woman, 1.00 for men (age range of 20-29)
So, if a woman of 55kg (120pounds) studied for an hour…
55(kg) x 0.0295(kcal) x 60(minutes) x 0.95 = 92.4825 kcal
AWESOME!
So don’t blame yourself for eating while studying.
