My truck

There aren’t many places where you can blast your music or sit in silence for hours. Out of those few places my truck is my favorite. My truck is one of my favorite things, it enables me to be able to go down to the beach and up to Reyes peak all in one day.

I practically live out of my car. I leave for school at 7:30 in the morning and I get back to my house around 7 in the evening every day. I have everything I could possibly need for school and the horse training I do after school. I could even put a bed in the back of my truck if I really wanted to, although I would have to move the horse blankets, Timothy hay pellets and shavings.

My truck gives me a cool place to sit in after a hard ride on my horse in the summer. A dry and warm place to be after walking down the hill at school in the rain. In many ways my truck is as much as a home to me as the barns and my actual house.

A Continuous Cycle

I hate that feeling of being alone, but for some reason I’ve grown to expect it. I don’t expect people to say yes if I asked to hang out or wanted to be my partner for a project. I don’t ever get mad at my friends for much, whether ignoring me, being rude, or anything, as I don’t want to lose them. I came to never hold grudges and forgive people easily, not only because what is the point of a grudge, but also out of fear that I’ll lose them. I’ve spent my years growing up scared that I wasn’t going to fit in in every new chapter. That people wouldn’t like me or accept me because I was bullied. I didn’t have many friends growing up and dealt with the same bully for 6 years. And once that girl left, a new one came; it always seems to happen this way. I can never escape this cycle. I don’t understand why people feel the need to bully. I understand we all have our own issues, but that is never an excuse to push it onto others. I feel like I’m always chasing that feeling of the end, waiting for that next chapter to escape the reality of the current moment.

October

I love October. It’s my birthday month, Halloween, homecoming, and so many other fun things that make this time of year feel special. Once October passes, I tend to start feeling a little more down as winter approaches, so I’m trying to soak up every last bit of the warmer weather with four-day weekends, parties, and making as many memories as possible.

I’m hosting my birthday party this year, which is definitely stressful, but it’s also really exciting. Between the presents, having all my friends together, and getting to enjoy the atmosphere of being surrounded by the people I love most, it’s something I’m really looking forward to.

In my mind, October is all about me because it’s my birthday month. But in reality, so many people I love have birthdays in October too, and some even share the exact same birthday as me. It makes the month feel even more special because it’s not just about celebrating myself, but also celebrating the people who mean the most to me.

I hope 17 treats me better than 16 did and that this year ends up being the best one of my life. I want to make the most of every moment, create unforgettable memories, and soak up the last little bits of being a kid before I turn 18 and have to start thinking more seriously about adulthood, my future, and what comes next.

Lust

Intertwining with another human is another unworldly affect

The scent

The gaze

The warmth of another soul against yours

It’s impossible to resist

But that feeling was never love when a kiss ignited

It was never love when bodies connected before souls

The slight adrenaline that quickly rushes over

Shot with vulnerability

Hitting so hard that our souls no longer connected.

The need

The craving

Vanished

Leaving the once lustful soul

Consumed with

Guilt.
