A Tragic Story of Prom and Permits: Part 2

Bethany jumped out of her car, tripping on her prom dress, and ran along the road right next to the riverbed towards the fallen deer. The deer didn’t make it. Bethany fell to her knees, and started to cry. Her wailing disabled her from hearing the foot steps behind her. But, she did feel the baseball bat against her skull.

The assailant happened to be a drunk, peace-loving hippie who thought she killed the deer, and wanted to stop her. When the hippie realized Bethany was trying to save the deer, he panicked and threw Bethany and the deer into the empty, rocky riverbed next to the road to cover up his mistake.

While Bethany was unconscious lying in the empty river bed, Ben was waiting for Bethany at the prom site. He assumed he stood her up, even though they weren’t going together.

Bethany woke up hours later, confused. Her car was gone. She called Ben, as she knew he would always answer. He didn’t this time. And they never talked again.

Fortune Favors the Loud

We have been designed to look for the loudest most colorful person or thing in the room.

In a classroom the person who talks the loudest and the most get’s the credit. Extroverts feed off of attention and sociability and are generally bolder. These are those loud people who don’t stop talking in class who seem to apply themselves the most.

Introverts fall by the way side. They’re the ones that sit quietly work just as hard but just with less noise.

The world has been trained to look at the people marketing themselves. Extroverts are naturally more comfortable with this.

Schools are obsessed with group work. Painful for anyone who does not relish in social encounters, and for students who want to make the grades but are paired with lazy students it is legitimate pain. It caters to those who are better at working in loud settings.

It’s a punch in the gut. The fact that people can’t see that quiet doesn’t mean not trying.

8 Carrie GIFS That Describe Prom Night

When you’re feeling really great as you put your makeup on

When you finally get your dress on and a teacher tries to dress code you

When you walk into prom and you see someone wearing the same dress as you

When you start losing hope for actually having fun but then they start playing your song

When someone tells you that you look really good

And then realize the person who told you that is notoriously fake

When you finally get home and you realize you sweat all your makeup off

When you are allowed to wash your face after a long night

But all and all, prom is super fun!  So kick off your shoes and dance!!

Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer

Now as many of you already know we have a serious political problem in the United States.

There is man running for president who belongs in prison

No not Donald Trump… Ted Cruz.

Now if you don’t know about the zodiac killer here is a little background:

The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who committed a number of murder in Northern California in the 1960s and early 1970s.

After he committed these horrific murders he would write into the local news papers and tell them things about the murders that only the police or he would know.

The Zodiac Killer was described to the police as a heftier 5’8 white male.

Now you may be wondering well how tall is Ted Cruz?

5 foot 8 inches!

Coincidence? I think NOT!

Now his age doesn’t exactly match up.

Technically according to his “birth certificate” he was born in 1970 and that makes him 45

So “technically” he wasn’t even born when some of these murders were done and for the others he was a toddler.

But you can doctor documents especially birth certificates, and this man does not look 45.

Like come on

Darkness

Sometimes I can’t move.  I’ll lay in bed staring blankly at a screen.  I am not evening watching the movie that my eyes are fixated on.  I’m in another world.

The darkness started in my brain, it made me smile less, and cry more.

Then it moved into my eyes,

the darkness made me see things differently.

When I looked in the mirror I didn’t see myself anymore, I saw a girl with dark black eyes.

Darkness took over my mouth soon after.  Negativity spewed out like oil in the middle of a dark blue ocean.  It covered me with a thick black liquid.

Darkness wrapped around my heart so tightly that nothing could escape.

Things I once loved, things that brought me so much happiness no longer warmed my heart, they simply pasted in front of me like a person I use to know.

Darkness takes my legs from time to time.  There’s nothing I want more but to move.  I want to run, and dance and write and jump.

Instead I sit, lifeless, glaring at the sticky white ceiling of my room.

I would like to think I am stronger than the darkness.

I know I’m not.

Sometimes I trick the darkness.

I make jokes, and laugh and pretend like he doesn’t exist.

The darkness is stronger than me.

And takes over.

A Tragic Story of Prom and Permits: Part 1

Bethany Yoddle, a highschool junior, just got her license right in time for prom. Bethany is an aspiring model/actress/tv show cooking competition judge/daytime talkshow host/reality tv show star. Bethany isn’t going to prom with anyone, but she just assumes they can’t handle her charismatic, multi-talented persona. But, little does she know, her best friend since 4th grade, Ben, is in love with her. Bethany and Ben have gone from swing sets to driving licenses, now they are 16 and she still has no idea.

7 pm hits, and Bethany climbs into her car to make her way to prom. Bethany’s drive to the prom site is a long one, as it’s outside of the city, but luckily she has all her favorite music to listen to on her way there.

Bethany hits the more rural part of her drive, and unfortunately, a deer ran across the road right as Bethany was singing loudly ( and ear-bleedingly bad) to her favorite song. Bethany saw the deer and she slammed the brakes, but just a second too late, and her front bumper collided with the deer.

To Be Continued

White Walls

It used to be white.

The yard was a little greener, and my dog was usually tied up to my tree.

My backyard was concrete and it would burn my feet in the summer time.

My living room had this ghastly green carpet that crept up the stairs and into the hallway.

There were pictures hanging up of my sister and I leading up to the second floor.

My room had light blue walls and white furniture with rose decals.

I used to sit on my knees when I ate dinner with my mom because the dinner table was too high up.

I remember watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every night on the same black leather couch.

Now my house is brown.

The front yard is full of dirt and my tree is dying.

My backyard no longer has hot concrete, but cool stone.

My living room has dark wood tile and my stairs have no carpet.

The pictures have been taken down and the white walls of my house are too white.

My room is the same, except all my stuffed animals and toys have been crammed into a box that now resides in my garage.

I can reach for the salt and pepper on my dinner table without having to stand on my chair.

My black leather couch is gone.

And so is the house I spent my childhood in.

The frame is still there, the same white walls and grey tile.

All the pictures that graced the walls are in the same crowded garage.

But now I’m too big to hid behind the black leather couch when a movie gets scary.

I’m too old to play with my old toys.

My house is still there but it is no longer my home.

More Adventures (Fireflies)

In my house in Massachusetts, my life was full of adventures. I was always outdoors, and I was constantly busy climbing trees or playing in the dirt.

As I was living on the east coast, the summer months were filled with bugs. If I was able to get through the swarms of mosquitos during the hot, humid days, the cool nights would bring fireflies.

When the sun dipped behind the mountains, the dark of the night would light up with hundreds of fireflies, illuminating the dark. The field across the street from my house was the best place to go – I would run around for hours, just chasing bug after bug, trying to capture one to keep in a jar.

I would look forward to the nighttime every day, filled with anticipation at dusk for the start of the night’s adventures. And each summer night, I would cross the street towards the big field and wade through the tall grass, in search for the biggest, brightest firefly.

10 Illuminati Lane

JJ. Abrams is a genius. I saw all of his films, but I didn’t appreciate until now. His films Super 8, Cloverfield, and 10 Cloverfield Lane have a lot more to them than meets the eye. After watching Dan Trachtenberg’s Reddit AMA Video, I realized how much of the big picture I was missing. Dan Trachtenberg directed 10 Cloverfield Lane, and when I didn’t understand some of the questions and answers I did some digging. I had seen Cloverfield, which took place in 2008, and it didn’t really have an effect on 10 Cloverfield Lane. It turns out that Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane take place in separate timelines, making them part of an anthology series. But the strange thing is that the movies have very similar backstories. Tons of movie “easter eggs” are in movies, and if researched in real life, lead to really interesting backstories. In Cloverfield, the main character is moving to Japan to work for a company called Slusho, a slushie company. The reason why this is special is because Slusho is made from a really rare sea nectar that can only be found in certain parts of the sea. But to make things more interesting, Slusho is owned by a company called Tagruato, a Japanese mining company, with a backstory leading back all the way to 1985, which shows how immense this movie’s history is. Tagruato also has other subsidiaries, such as Yoshida Medical Research which deals with deep sea genetic research, ParafFUN wax distribution, and Bold Futura, a contractor company that deals with advanced technology including space exploration. After the Cloverfield attack on New York, Tagruato was the clean-up crew; maybe they are the good guys or maybe not. An environmental company thinks otherwise. Before the attack on New York, a drilling station owned by Tagruato was destroyed. Oddly, the oil platform was located in a part of the Atlantic with no oil. And even stranger it is where they have their satellite orbiting. Tagruato knew something prior to the attacks on New York. On the separate timeline of 10 Cloverfield Lane one of the main characters, Howard, worked on Satellites… Owned by guess who? Tagruato. Howard found something that put him in a panic, so he made a bunker years before 10 Cloverfield Lane took place. He like Tagruato knew something no one else did, and when doomsday came he was ready. The secrets of Tagruato remain unknown but Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane aren’t JJ.’s only movies where Tagruato has been in the background of monster attacks. Oddly enough, the movie Super 8 shows Slusho ads in a gas station window that appears in 10 Cloverfield Lane. Tagruato presence makes Super 8 the unofficial prequel to the Cloverfield anthology. For those who saw these movies and missed this entire part, don’t feel bad because none of this was in the movie itself. Both movies only focused on the events during the attack. These companies aren’t even mentioned by the characters. This is why I love JJ. Abrams so much, because the movie doesn’t end after the credits.
