With the human population nearing 7 billion, I think it is a time we examine ourselves very closely.
One thing that I find very interesting is the fact that 84% of all people on this planet, are, in one form or another, religious. The superstition of Gods and other such things has been one trait that we have not been able to shake.
33% of all humans are Christian. That makes the Vatican one of the most powerful organizations in the world. The Catholic Church is so powerful that it has become it’s own country. I am completely dumbfounded by what humans have allowed to happen. Religion is responsible of worst atrocities ever committed, yet people still follow it blindly.
Religion doesn’t even make any sense. If any religious person were to think about what they believe in for just ONE second, then they would realize that worshiping an elephant with 8 arms, or that carpenter from Israel, or that guy that hasn’t even appeared yet is completely ludicrous.
It depresses me to think that the world’s most powerful species believes in such (excuse my poor vocabulary) dumb things. We are the species that built the pyramids, created the internet, landed on the moon and even made inventions that make us more like other species, and yet we still are stupid enough (or at least 84% of us are) to worship that carpenter, that mutated pachyderm and that guy that hasn’t been here yet. Snap out of it humans! These false beliefs will only lead to the hurried demise of each other.

Religon is a scape goat for people. People are scared to die and religon gives them that hope that they wont disappear forever. In my mind when we die that’s it. It’s so unfortunate that poeple think that they can change the end by what they beleive, like that makes them better than other people.
That actually made me laugh yet I could not agree more. It’s about time we wake up from the delirium and really look closely at the weird stuff that we believe in.
